What the first woe to the inhabiters of the earth is described in Revelation 9:1-11
In Revelation 9:1 a star is seen falling from heaven. That star will be Satan cast down to earth to begin his final time/times/half time of influencing the nations of the earth. He will be tossed the key to bottomless pit on his descent.
Cast down to earth, having great wrath, Satan will open the bottomless pit and flesh tormenting locust will come out. Some people think the locust are demons. Maybe, I don't know. But their life span will be limited to 5 months to torment men.
Revelation 9:5 And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.
