I realize I shouldn't talk about specific religious denominations, but there's a couple that I definitely do NOT recognize as Christian. And if you listen to their rhetoric, they only 'use' the Christian label, and often speak out against Christians.
I speak of the Seventh Day Adventists, and the Jehovah's Witness organizations. Neither one recognizes Lord Jesus Christ as "Emmanuel" God with us on earth in the flesh.
At one time the Christian Church refused to recognize SDA as a Christian denomination, but later they finally acquired that label. That still does not hold with me though, and it is because of what they teach against written Bible Scripture about Lord Jesus Christ.
Same goes for the Jehovah Witness organization. They don't believe Jesus of Nazareth is The Christ, Immanuel God with us come in the flesh either. They believe Jesus Christ is the Archangel Michael, and was created.
Per the written Bible Scripture of The New Testament, for one to be a CHRISTIAN, they MUST believe that Jesus Christ is GOD come in the flesh. That is what even The Old Testament Scriptures declare, like Isaiah 9:6 and Isaiah 7 about Jesus' Name "Immanuel".
And when Apostle Philip asked Jesus to just, 'shew us the Father, and it will suffice', Jesus asked Philip how long he had been with Jesus and yet Philip didn't know Him, because Jesus told him that he that had seen Jesus had seen The Father.
What those denominations actually represent are traditional beliefs from the Jew's religion, Judaism. The Jews cannot... grasp how anyone born in the flesh can be God, period. That is their problem, they just do not understand the difference between Spirit and flesh. Their minds dwell on carnal things. Thus any claim that a flesh man can be God is like an insult to them. This is why the so-called 'Oneness' (or modalist) doctrine got created by men's doctrines. So there are several denominational ways the Jews have tried to get Christians to dump the Biblical Trinity of The Godhead which is... taught in God's written Word.
