Reader,

The "2nd death" is simply the eternal continuation of the 1st Death found in Adam.

In other words.,, , "In Adam we all die" and in "Christ we are all made alive".

The 1st Adam brought sin and death to all mankind, and the 2nd Adam ( JESUS ) brings the offer of Eternal Life to all mankind, which ends "death".

Before Adam fell or "died", He was in Spiritual Union with God. When He "fell" , when he rebelled.... he lost spiritual union with God, that is defined as "death"...... so that is a loss of God's Eternal life that Adam had before he fell from it, or "died".

So, that is the 1st Death.....its spiritual separation from God.

= When a person is not born again...

Jesus said "you must be born again"< or you remain "in Adam", in "death".... that is to be spiritually separated from God.

To leave that "death" the 1st, is to be born again...... as then you have regained Spiritual Union with God, = Eternal LIFE that is found "in Christ".... that is the escape, by Spiritual BIRTH = FROM 1st Adam ""Death."""

The 2nd Death, is to remain in 1st Death, forever...after you literally die.
Literally... 2nd Death means, that you died on earth spiritually separated from God, never born again, in that First Death, and then you hit eternity. And in eternity there is no 2nd chance to be saved, to be born again OUT of 1st Death.
So, to now everlastingly remain in that spiritual separation from God, is the "2nd Death"....or a eternal spiritual separation from God.

That is the "2nd Death".

Where you will exist like that is ....>Hell, followed by the Lake of Fire.

How do you escape that eternal destiny that is originally designed "for the Devil and His angels"???

Jesus said..."you must be born again".......as that spiritual birth delivers you from "1st Adam death",....restoring you back to Spiritual Union with God, which is... = Eternal Life "in Christ".

Excellent! AMEN!!

As we near the end of the book of Revelation we see the nations of the world being judged at a judgment called the The Great White Throne Judgment (GWT).

It reads as follows...

Rev. 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

1. This judgment is for the people of all nations and follows 1,000 years after the judgment of the house of God.

2. There are 3 books opened at the GWT judgment..."books and another book" makes 3.

3. People at this judgment are judged by the works...not whether they accepted Jesus or God's grace.

4. The lake of fire produces death not eternal torment. That's why this is called the second DEATH.

5. Not everyone in the second resurrection is cast into the lake of fire. That is a religious contrivance. It's like saying.."everyone that did not have a place on the bus had to walk." Does that mean that everyone had to walk???

So in our time there is mostly religious confusion based on a lot of muddying the water with religious dogmas, fables, and superstitions that have crept in unawares by a lack of spiritual watchmen. I would think most believers have most of the above points wrong...and many have them all wrong. How can the modern religion derived from a historic muddling of Christianity get the bible so wrong???

Please refer to the point number for any challenges. Please TRY to act like a civil person when doing so! :) Thanks in advance.
To tell you the truth, any response to the above 5 issues would be purely speculation for me. However I am personally aiming for the first resurrection. ;)

Revelation 20:6
English Standard Version

6 Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.

2. "There are 3 books opened at the GWT judgment..."books and another book" makes 3.

3." People at this judgment are judged by the works...not whether they accepted Jesus or God's grace." Episkopos #1 OP

I have not read this complete thread, (other posters) @ the time of this reply.

2. There may have been many books, more than 3. I agree books is plural.

3. But and if on # 3 it's not judgement on whether they have either accepted or denied Jesus, why make a point of distinction.
Will names be written in the " "BOOK OF LIFE" of those whom don't have God aka,Jesus?

****Acts 4: 10-12 KJV
10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
12 Neither is there salvation in ANY other: for there is none other NAME UNDER HEAVEN given among men, whereby we must be saved.
It is a judgement scene. Any judgement scene is instigated by an accuser. It is the accuser who keeps the records. Judgement is never initiated by the judge. And the 'other' book? What book might that be? The book of Life?.....and who has that?...the accuser? or another?

further.....those whose names are found written in the Book of Life are there because they have not been blotted out. Does this imply that all are written in the Book of Life but for some reason some have had their names removed? .....and for what might that reason be?....and who removes their names?

Ok Ok, I won't push it any further....however, consistency is critical.

Bad people go into the Lake of Fire as soon as they die. In the end, Jesus will resurrect them in order to remind them of how terrible they are and then throw them right back into the Lake of Fire!

I'll be the one putting more coal and wood under the cauldron!

Did you actually write this.... (I'll be the one putting more coal and wood under the cauldron!) WTF Patrick 1966

NASB Joh 6:44 "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws (DRAGS) him; and I will raise him up on the last day.

NASB Joh 6:65 And He was saying, "For this reason I have said to you, that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted him from the Father."

You see Patrick1966.... ACT Act 13:48 does not apply to you....

Act 13:48 When the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord; and as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed.

You are predestine to burn in your own fire.... Get ready.... To hear the WORDS.... I never Knew you.... Mat 7:23

5. Not everyone in the second resurrection is cast into the lake of fire.
However, being "the dead", and I saw the dead, small and great, this is to say they are not the living, and therefore, would you expect to find them named in the Book of Life?

Much love!

I think the scriptures corroborate all of what you said. It seems simple enough to me when they are read with the simplicity with which they are written. Too much private interpretation is being read into them by too many. But nobody can go beyond what they are taught. The problem is that many appear to be unable to be untaught when presented with the simple truth. Revelation is not that hard to comprehend, regardless of the prevailing thought that it is hard to understand. To me it's nor more complicated than reading the daily newspaper.

I particularly like your understanding of point number 5. There seems to be some lack of understanding that Jesus will judge, not by outward appearances as most people do, but he'll consider their heart when judging. That answers to the ago old question of what happens to the natives living in the Amazon who never heard of Jesus. I dare say that covers the vast multitude of people that have lived throughout history. Obviously the Babylonians never heard of Jesus. I would guess the majority of those Babylonians had a good heart and will share the new earth with Christians, but I can't say for sure since I'm not the judge (which is really good for all of us).

I like to say that the only difference between Christians and non-Christians is that Christians have a guaranteed seat in the new earth. All the rest have to wait and see.

To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

Rom 8:17,

And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with [him], that we may be also glorified together.

Gal 3:29,

And if ye [be] Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
