who really canonized it ?Jesus and his apostles did . Christians just recognized the Scripture that God had already canonized through the apostles And God the Son.so if you don't like a book of the bible don't blame the church fathers neither jerome or luther or earlier ones or the catholic church or the protestant ones blame God.Now understand this next there is no such thing as a completly literal translation of the bible. IF there was such a thing none of us could understand it. The hebrew words would make no sence to us.What would you think about this litteral translation? Jehovah had a long nose?did you know that was one way the hebrew writters related that God was angry? (CAPTIALS USED FOR EMPHASIS ONLY)NOW BE HONEST WERE YOU NOT THINKING OF PONOCIO WHO'S NOSE GOT LONGER EVERY TIME HE LIED?now what about the kjv claim to fame?compared to the Niv?Both translations were edited by the reformed camp. not the lutheran so its rather odd this fighting over which is best amoung them selves?why not just go back to all the original manuscripts we have to day and see if it is so.Luther used only the received text in his translation because that was all that was avaiable to him. the others were not found yet.did you know that in all the new texts that have now been found even the oldest ones not one of them changes anything in doctrine that the received text Gives?all the text witness to the same truth in doctrine that the received text gives .they don't add any new doctrines but only give wittness to the truth of the received text.perhaps it simply because some like to read in elizabethanian english and thats why they insist their kids do it to.?ya tink old chap?
