When one prays to the father in the name of Christ the holy spirit intercedes for us when we ask for forgiveness of our sins, when we ask for wisdom to understand his words the holy spirit intercedes for usWhen are baptised in the name of the father and the son and the Holy spirit Father offered us Grace to be saved, son paid the price for our(all)sin the holy spirit is who intercedes for us everydayin our prayers ONE baptism in which when we accept that Christ died for us and repentant in his Name we are baptised into holy spirit.

I know that I will probably hear it about my post, but this is where I stand so far.The Bible tells us to pray in the spirit...1 Cor. 14:4 tells us that praying in tongues edifieth selfJude 20 tells us to build ourselves up by praying in the Spirit.1 Cor. 14:2 says that we speak mysteries in the spirit to God.Therefore, I believe praying in tongues is praying in the Spirit. I do believe that you can pray with your understanding and the spirit.

1 Cor14:4 was a negative in this vrese Paul was lecturing them that speaking in an language that the listener does not understand was useless it helped no one but yourself and served no purpose Edify was not used to uplift it wascondeming them not to do these things that is the proper context He is saying if you go to a city that speaks Greek and preach the mysteries in God Words in Hebrew it helps no one it just servers yourself Do not do this thing I woulkd rather you speak 10 Words in their language that they understandthan 1000 words in your own lanuage that they do not understand. Its called using common sense2. Anyone who has been batised in the One baptisim and repented prays in the spirit 3. The mysteries are the The bible the Word of God that he died and came back that he will return there is nothing here that supports any unknow languageYou can pray however you like believe what ever mens words you want but there is NO evidence in the scripture of any unknown tongue or language spoken by men

How is it in Cor. 14:14 that it says that my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful? IT PLAINLY SAYS THAT YOU ARE PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT-A LANGUAGE THAT YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND.It also says to pray in the spirit(tongues) and pray with your understanding also.Alan, this is what I believe the scriptures say about praying in the Spirit. I will not take up this thread to debate Kriss. I would like to hear what you believe it is.It mentions that you are to pray in your understanding also. I believe the Holy Spirit can put someone on your mind to pray for, but you do not not what to pray.

I will show you that word languiage is a modern word it was not used in ancient time the word used for language was tongues here is quote from a historian from a book written about the history of Britain around 150 A.D.But when Guiderius refused to pay the tribute which the Romans demanded, Claudius, who had been raised to the Empire, made a descent upon the island. There was with him his commander-in-chief of his army who was called in the British tongue Levis Hamo, by whose counsel all campaigns that were undertaken were directed. For he had learned their tongue and their customs, seeing that he himself had learnt nurture along with the British hostages at Rome. This was how they spoke. Tongues was the word for natural language of men it has no mystical magic meaning it simply means languages Now there is only one question is there a lanugae of God ? and how does he use it.I will show you scripture says there is and he and his angels alone speak it. No manand that he splits up his language to every language on earth and gives each one NO MAN ON EARTH SPEAKS GODS LANGUAGE HE DECLARED IT SO

Hi Setfree, You are spot on, Prayer is a powerful and wonderful tool that we have. We can pray with the understanding, we can pray with our Spirit, when we pray in tongues, God can, and does reveal those mysteries to us.v2 "He that speaketh in an unknown, speaketh mysteries".v13 "wherefore let him that speaketh in an uknown tongue pray that he might interpret". I like to link that to, Ephesians 5: 17-18.v17. "Be not unwise but understanding of what the will of the Lord is" How?v18. "Be not drunk with wine wherein is exces: But be filled with the Spirit".The Greek word for "Filled". means, Keep being filled with the spirit, One baptism, but many fillings. when we full of the Holy Ghost God can reveal His will to us, because we become sensitive to the leading of the spirit. This is a wonderful gift, when we pray in tongues during our prayer times, we can get the interpretation.

The answer to this lies in scripture on Pencost Day there was a sound as rushing of wind and the aspostels began to speak that is teach the word of God we call that prophesing the Word of God we know it as the bible Act 2:2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. Act 2:3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. So what do we see a cloven tounge what does that mean CLOVEN: to be divided into opposing parts, to be at variance, in dissension3) to distributeSo what we have here is a language that by the fire of God (god is a consuming fire)was split up and a language given to each to speak in not one language each was given a language seperaterated from Gods language Act 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. They were filled with the holy spirit of God the same spirit they were baptised withand they began to talk each with the seperate language they were given to speakand the spirit of told them whay to say Act 2:5 ¶ And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. Men of every nation on earth and speaking every language on earth were there Act 2:6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. And they were confused because suddenly every man was hearing heard them in their own Language each aspostel/disciple was speaking in a different language so that all their could hear and understand This was no garbelling confused lanuage this was each person speaking in a differnt language of every nation on earth and everyone understood what they were hearing it was Gods word the bible that was being said taught them the prophesizing that the Word would be taught throught the world and that then Christ would returnThat was the miracle of Penecost Day remember it was God at the tower of Babble that divied up or clove(split) the languages. Now know one THAT IS NO ONE ON EARTH SPEAKS GODS LANGUAGE HE DECLARED IT WHAT GOD DID ON PENTCOST DAY WAS ALLOW HIS LANGUAGE TO BE SPLIT AMONG EACH DISCIPLE so that Hebrew was now speaking Greek a greek was now speaking Hebrew.NO WHERE EXCEPT IN THE MINDS OF MIS LEAD MEN IS THERE ANY UNKNOWN LANGUAGE SPOKE BY ANY MAN Act 2:7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? Act 2:8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?

I have told you before one way to distingish mens doctrine or the devils lies from Gods Word is to break it down to its essence Gods word is always the oppisite of Mens lies influnced by SatanGod is.......................Satan lies light .........................DarkGood.........................EvilTruth.........................Lieslift up.........................bring downyou can see God is always oppiste of Satannow look at Mans unknown tongue doctrine compared to Gods wordGods Tongue (language) split up to all the languages on earth and spoken so that all understoodMans unknown Tongue Babble (confused) spoken and No one understandsGods Tongue a consuming fire that speaks his truth of his Word the bible and its promisesMans Tongue - confusion that speaks nothing useful to anyone but selfGods Words there is one baptism of my spirit on all who call on my name and repentmans Word to speak a unknown tongue you must receive a second baptism of fireMan can never be a consuming fire that is Gods alone he never speaks of having to have a second baptism If you speak his words to any so that they hear and understand you are partaking of speading the flames of his truth the mark of Satans lie being the oppisite of Gods truth is written all over this unknown tongue teaching of men there is no unknown tongue spoken of in Gods word The gift spoken in 1 Cor. was that men were each given the abiility to speak a new forgiegn language they had known before so they could go throught the world and speakGods Word that was the gift before leaving to this Paul lectures them telling them that he would rather they only speak 10 words the listener understands than 1000they do not understand, that is they are to be teaching so others understand not to make themselves feel better (that is edified) and he further warns them DO NOT SPEAK THINGS NOT UNDERSTOOD IN CHURCH if you are speaking in a church in a place that you do not understand the language get an interpeterthat what the scriptures say reguardless of your belief

Tongues was the word for natural language of men it has no mystical magic meaning it simply means languages Now there is only one question is there a lanugae of God ?
Yes there is a language of God, 1 Corinthians 13:1. mentions Tongues of angels. And 1 Corinthians 14: 2. says, " He that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understands him, howbeit in the Spirit he speaketh mysteries".1 Corithians 12:10 says "Divers kinds" of tongues, v5 says, "There are diferences of administration".v6 says " There are diversities of operations". Tongues are very varied, such as.[1] speaking a language that you never learned. Acts 2:4--12. [2] speaking mysteries. 1 Cor 14: 2.[3 Builds us up. 1 Cor 14: 4.[4] A prayer language. 1Cor 14: 14.[5] Singing in the Spirit [Tongues] 1 Cor 14: 15.[6] A tongue which will be interpreted. 1 Corinthians 12:10.when 1 Corinthians 14: 28. says "If there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the Church: and let him speak to himself, and to God". that does not mean he shouldn't speak his prayer language [in tongues], but that he should not give a message in tongues, because there is no one there to interpret it, But he can speak and pray in tongues.[7]The Holy Ghost interceeds for us and through us for whatever the need is.Romans 8: 26. "Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: But the spirit himself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered".The word "Helpeth" is a combination of two Greek words, [Together with] and [Against]. meaning, The Holy Spirit stands together with us, against whatever is against us.But notice, It is as we are praying, v26, we dont know what or how to PRAY as we ought. As we pray in tongues the Spirit will use our tongue and interceeds with groanings that cannot be utered in the human language. If you have prayed, and interceeded in tongues, you know when the Holy Spirit takes over and starts to interceed for you. Then all things work together for our good. v 28.

Yes there is a language of God, 1 Corinthians 13:1. mentions Tongues of angels. And 1 Corinthians 14: 2. says, " He that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understands him, howbeit in the Spirit he speaketh mysteries".exactly except the Word "UNKNOWN" was never in the manuscripts God never said it men added it it only means languages you do not know This verse simply means that if you speak to a person who doesnt understand you God and the angels will undertand as they speak all languagesBut the man will not understand so how then can he talk about mysteries of Christ and be baptised in the spirit. 1 Corithians 12:10 says "Divers kinds" of tongues, v5 says, "There are diferences of administration".v6 says " There are diversities of operations". Tongues are very varied, such divers tongues = means differnt languages differnces of administration = some were given(admintered) more difficult langues as.[1] speaking a language that you never learned. Acts 2:4--12. yes speaking a new language of men imagine getting one day and speaking fluent frech, or spannish, or chinese[2] speaking mysteries. 1 Cor 14: 2.the mysteries are the teachings of Christ the World had not yet heard them so they were a mystery to them[3 Builds us up. 1 Cor 14: 4.You are to build up believers not yourself[4] A prayer language. 1Cor 14: 14.praying in an language not understood by the one praying is unfruitful[5] Singing in the Spirit [Tongues] 1 Cor 14: 15.With understanding singing or praying what is not understood is unfruitful [6] A tongue which will be interpreted. Yes as I have said PAUL WARN THEM if you are in a place where you can not speak the language you must get an interpter so that that they can hear and understand . Would it be differnt today if you go to China to preach the gospel what good would it do you if your words could not be understood you would hire an interpiter1 Corinthians 12:10.when 1 Corinthians 14: 28. says "If there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the Church: and let him speak to himself, and to God". that does not mean he shouldn't speak his prayer language [in tongues], but that he should not give a message in tongues, because there is no one there to interpret it, But he can speak and pray in tongues.yOU ARE ADDING YOUR OWN MEANING TO THIS it vdoes not mean that or say it it says if you do not have an interpterand do not speak the language where you are then you should just pay quitely in your own language as not to disrupt[7]The Holy Ghost interceeds for us and through us for whatever the need is.Yes the spirit/ghost(they are same thing) interceeds for us always with our prayers Romans 8: 26. "Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: But the spirit himself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered".The word "Helpeth" is a combination of two Greek words, [Together with] and [Against]. meaning, The Holy Spirit stands together with us, against whatever is against us.Yes but this has nothing to do with unknown tongues it simply it says these can not be uttered by menThe Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit also helps our weaknesses; do you believe that? God helps you in your weakness through the Holy Spirit if you have faith to believe that. If you do not have the faith to believe that, don't worry, He will not help you. To be worthy of the hope you must have the faith in God and in the power of His Holy Spirit. Why would God give a person any authority to act on His behalf, when they don't even believe and respect Him? God give us the authority and power of His Spirit when we have faith in Him, and belief in His Son, Jesus Christ. The blood of Christ is where we get our power, when we repent of our sins. Then when we have our faith in Jesus Christ, and are in His will, the Holy Spirit Himself intercedes on our behalf, even when we do not know what to pray for ourselves. The way that the Holy Spirit of God makes intercessions are in ways that can not even be written here, or understood by us. When we do not know how or what to pray, and approach the Father, God Spirit does it on our behalf. His Spirit knows our thoughts and intents, and He does the intercession for us. But notice, It is as we are praying, v26, we dont know what or how to PRAY as we ought. As we pray in tongues the Spirit will use our tongue and interceeds with groanings that cannot be utered in the human language.Again you add your own meaning that not what God says it says even if we are not sure what we are to pray for our spirit being one with his will interceed for us tonges is never mention you add it to change /Gods words If you have prayed, and interceeded in tongues, you know when the Holy Spirit takes over and starts to interceed for you. Then all things work together for our good. v 28.
Again you add your own meaning to the Words these are your words not Gods this is nor more than speckulation based on belief that was never written THERE IS NO UNKNOWN TONGUE IN GODS WORD THIS IS ALL SPEAKING OF HOW TO TEACH THE WORD OD GOD AND HIS MYSTERIES OF DEATH AND RESURECTION AND ASCENTING AND PROPHESIZING THAT HE WILL RETURNTHIS UNKNOWN TONGUE IS NOT A PART OF GODS WORD IT IS OF MEN WHO HAVE BEEN FOOLED BY SATANS LIES AND TRYING TO CONVINCE OTHERS IT IS GODS WORD many good men do not do this intentionally but have been victums of Satans lies to earlier men Are you more interested in learning the truth of Gods word or defending your beliefs even if they are not from God?My answers are all in green dont know why it keeps boxing them

You said, when we repent, we are baptised into the Holy Ghost. The baptism in the Holy Ghost is a seperate experience. The Apostles were saved when Jesus breathed the Holy Ghost into them. John 20: 22.When Jesus asked Peter did he love him,in John 21: 16--17. one of the words for "love" is "agapao" The love that is a Characteristic of a Christian, From the word "Agape". The love of God. So they were born again. Every Bible and Greek scholor agree on that point, but they weren't baptised in the Holy Ghost. The Apostle Paul was Born again on the road to Damascus, But he didn't receieve the Baptism in the Holy Ghost until Ananias laid his hands on him in v17, also note, Ananias called paul, "Brother Saul".The Believers at Samaria were born again but not baptised in the Holy Ghost. Acts 8: 14-17.The believers at Ephesus were not baptised in the Holy Ghost Acts 19: 2--6.Notice, Paul said, Have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed. If we are baptised in the Holy Ghost at the rebirth, Pauls question woukdn't make sense, But it does because it is a seperate and wonderful experience. The Bible mentions three baptisms.Hebrews 6: 2. "The doctrine of Baptisms" Plural.[1] The baptism into the body of Christ. 1 Corinthian 12: 13.That is the rebirth, and the one baptism that Ephesians 4: 5. mentions.[2] The baptism in water Acts 8: 36-38.[3] The baptism in the Holy Ghost. Matt 3: 11. Acts 1: 5, & 8.Acts 2: 38.notice the steps [1] Repent, "Get born again. [2] Be baptised In water [Water baptism does not save, it is a outward witness of in inward experience]. [3] Then you will receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost.

You are wrong there is one baptiim Eph 4 Christ had not yet died in John 20On penecost day was the first time Batisim in the spirit Jesus Christ was available it replaced the earlier Water baptisim giving us Now ONE baptisim ther is now only ONE plural is used here because the baptism does more than one thing it allows the the spirit of Christ in indwell in the believer and inturn allows the believer to become a member of the body of Christ these are not dual baptisms but serves a duel purpose.

[1]It does not mater if the word "Unknown" wasn't in the original the word "tongue" was."He that speaketh in a tongue speaketh not to men, but unto God: for no man understands him" Notice, "NO MAN UNDERSTANDS HIM" Why? Because it is a heavenly language and only God knows it.[2] The mysteries, is not teaching in a diferent language, because if you look at Acts 2, They weren't teaching, they were speaking the wonderful works of God.1 Cor 14: 21. " with other tongues I will speak to this people, but they will not hear. The Greek for "hear" is the same as understandeth in v 2. So tongues was never ment for teaching, why would God let someone teach in tongues if He knew no one would understand.[3] You build yourself up Jude 20. "That is Bible" First you build yourself up, then you are strong to build others up.[4] How can praying in tongues be unfruitful.[5] If no interpreter, speak to yourself and God, I am not adding, [A] I am speaking from experience. why else would you speak to yourself, I have never seen any Christian, or anyone else, speak to themselves in Church, Only by speaking in tongues.[6] We need to be praying in tongues for the Spirit to interceed for us.I am not putting my own thoughts, Note the word Groaning. It means "That cannot be uttered in our own laguage. You said about this point, "It means it cannot be uttered by men". That is right, So who is doing the speaking, some one has to be saying something, Groanings don't appear from nowhere It is the spirit, but He needs a voice. If the Holy spirit did our praying, why does God tell us to pray. The truth is, God has given us a prayer laguage and the Spirit uses that to interceed. You always put your own thoughts I take it that you are not baptised in the Holy Ghost and speak with new tongues as Jesus said we would.

Because it is a heavenly language and only God knows it.I dont know what your quoting above the Word tonge is Glossa it means all natraul languages an dilects of men..... Period thats it.God knows all languages if I speak to God in Chinese you wont understand but God willAnd yes God has a language and when he speaks it ALL UNDERSTAND the day someone opens their mouth and speaks an unknow language any everyone that hears it understands exactly what was said you can be assured it is god speaking until then NO MAN ON EARTH TODAY SPEAKS GODS LANGUAGE THATS THE FACTS SIR THE very fact it is understood by all no matter what language you speak is the MARK OF GODS work[2] The mysteries, is not teaching in a diferent language, because if you look at Acts 2, They weren't teaching, they were speaking the wonderful works of God.What a stupid statement it doesnyt even make sense these were Jews and gentiles that did not know Gods word the mysteries of Gods the resurection the second coming ect.what do you think Gods mysteries were that they were teaching they couldnt teach them if they didnt understand them Cor 14: 21. " with other tongues I will speak to this people, but they will not hear. The Greek for "hear" is the same as understandeth in v 2. So tongues was never ment for teaching, why would God let someone teach in tongues if He knew no one would understand. Are you using any common sense Thats the point of course they would not understand he is If I speak to these people without knowing their language they will not understand that was exactly the reason for the gift of understanding and speaking other languages what was Gods command go preach/teach the gospel to the world how were they to do this if they could speak their language to even suggest these disciples were not to teach and this was not the reason is to deny the very command of God to these disciples. You are trying to read this through the eyes of your belief not what Gods[3] You build yourself up Jude 20. "That is Bible" First you build yourself up, then you are strong to build others up.absoultly true how do you build yourself up by learning Gods Word by praying and repenting and asking God for wisdom [4] How can praying in tongues be unfruitful.Because it is not any language it is muttering God does not understand muttering you dont understand muttering it is not one of the languages God gave man it is made up God warns you more than once about speaking not understood things he aquiants muttering un-intellagable muttering with sorcery and tells you not to do it if you dont know what you are saying for all you know you are praying to familiar spirits God says dont do it.[5] If no interpreter, speak to yourself and God, I am not adding, [A] I am speaking from experience. why else would you speak to yourself, I have never seen any Christian, or anyone else, speak to themselves in Church, Only by speaking in tongues.Yes if there is no interpeter to help you are to pray to yourself quitley if you were in a chinese church and the preacher was speaking in chinese you are to sit quitley and read or pray to yourself God is saying I will hear both the chinese preach and you [6] We need to be praying in tongues for the Spirit to interceed for us.I am not putting my own thoughts, Note the word Groaning. It means "That cannot be uttered in our own laguage. You said about this point, "It means it cannot be uttered by men". You always put your own thoughts I take it that you are not baptised in the Holy Ghost and speak with new tongues as Jesus said we would.
I have never put my own thought I heve expouned on what is written to explain but it was never my thought.I have shown you exactly what Gods word says if you can see it I not the one with blinders on No apsotel nor Christ himself nor phophet of God nor Word of God ever taught any unknow tongue it was not until 1800 this false doctrine ever was heardand those that started it tried to confess they were wrong and repented for ever doing it but other evil men latched onto it and the movement went on it never was from God.I read many early church documents and writting this was never even conceived of much less a doctrine of Men of GodYou do not have a single scripture to prove this without misunderstanding what is said So I take it your choice is your belief of men over God thats fine by me I only attempt to show Gods truth it doesnt say two things it only says one and that one is easy to see when you dont have false doctrine over your eyes. I not only dont speak this evil talk I thank God every day he protected me from falling into this blindness for I can see clearly. If I ever started speaking mutterings I would ask God to order the evil spirit away from me in the name of my savior Jesus ChristIsa 8:19 And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?

I have told you before one way to distingish mens doctrine or the devils lies from Gods Word is to break it down to its essence Gods word is always the oppisite of Mens lies influnced by SatanGod is.......................Satan lies light .........................DarkGood.........................EvilTruth.........................Lieslift up.........................bring downyou can see God is always oppiste of Satannow look at Mans unknown tongue doctrine compared to Gods wordGods Tongue (language) split up to all the languages on earth and spoken so that all understoodMans unknown Tongue Babble (confused) spoken and No one understandsGods Tongue a consuming fire that speaks his truth of his Word the bible and its promisesMans Tongue - confusion that speaks nothing useful to anyone but selfGods Words there is one baptism of my spirit on all who call on my name and repentmans Word to speak a unknown tongue you must receive a second baptism of fireMan can never be a consuming fire that is Gods alone he never speaks of having to have a second baptism If you speak his words to any so that they hear and understand you are partaking of speading the flames of his truth the mark of Satans lie being the oppisite of Gods truth is written all over this unknown tongue teaching of men there is no unknown tongue spoken of in Gods word The gift spoken in 1 Cor. was that men were each given the abiility to speak a new forgiegn language they had known before so they could go throught the world and speakGods Word that was the gift before leaving to this Paul lectures them telling them that he would rather they only speak 10 words the listener understands than 1000they do not understand, that is they are to be teaching so others understand not to make themselves feel better (that is edified) and he further warns them DO NOT SPEAK THINGS NOT UNDERSTOOD IN CHURCH if you are speaking in a church in a place that you do not understand the language get an interpeterthat what the scriptures say reguardless of your belief4There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.[url="http://www.entrewave.com/view/reformedonline/Pentecost,%20part%205.htm]http://www.entrewave.com/view/reformedonli...%20part%205.htm[/url]
