Yup, you know about it on this forum and how it works.
Have you considered that the sin against the Holy Spirit is non other than putting him on ignore......and what happens then? well, no matter how much he tries to communicate he cannot be heard but to flatter oneself that one is all ears, the vain imaginings of the mind are listened to and, voila! one believes it is the Spirit speaking!

Those who do this aren't deaf, just listening to the wrong spirit as their vain imaginations conjure! ... good analogy brother, "ignore button"

I’m sure ignoring God/The holy spirit is a horrible sin but I don’t think you can identify it as "the sin against the Holy Spirit" (if you mean "blasphemy against the Holy Ghost” unforgivable sin referred to in the Bible).

In context of Matthew 12:28 where scripture addresses blasphemy against the Holy Ghost, the Pharisees were claiming that Jesus was working by the power of Satan. Biblical context appears to say that claiming Jesus is of the devil is a unforgivable sin.

To say that Jesus is of the devil is to stifle the conviction by the Sprit that says he is God's man. Those guys knew who Jesus was...they'd been tracking him since Mary was pregnant .....there was the witness of the Magi and the Shepherds ....Simeon and Anna at the temple and the slaughter of the innocents....then Jesus in the temple at age 12......then the witness of the Baptist and finally the man himself. Yes, they knew who he was but it didn't suit them.

The religious professionals were as convicted of that fact just as the disciples were. The disciples responded to the Spirit's calling, the Pharisees didn't...they blasphemed the Spirt......they committed the unpardonable sin because they distanced themselves from the only method God has provided for us to respond to him; the wooing of the Spirit. They put the Spirit on ignore.

Are you sure the Pharisees didn't respond? That is a big assumption! Maybe better rephrased as some didn't respond. As Paul and many many others responded.

I think that goes without saying.....of course some responded....some of all hues and stripes but the general movement of the religious Hebrew system rejected him.....it still does.

For now as the scriptures declare that they are blinded for a time. But we know thousands received Yeshua. To be honest there are many today coming to belief in Yeshua from that system as you call it Halleluyah, especially when it is shown to them from their perspective. As I can't really blame them when they are presented with a modern European looking, shampooed silky haired, blue eyed Jesus.

Shalom

Sorry, and no offense, your observation makes no sense save to condemn a believer.

This event should be warning enough not to lie to the Holy Spirit and test Him.

Act 5:3-4 But Peter said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself? (4) While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God."
Act 5:9-10 Then Peter said to her, "How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out." (10) Then immediately she fell down at his feet and breathed her last. And the young men came in and found her dead, and carrying her out, buried her by her husband.
