There are no "corrupt Alexandrian texts", no diminution of Christ's deity in the NIV, no homosexual on the NIV translation committee and finally no changing of doctrines on the basis of translations.

What there is, is an heretical belief which attempts to make a 17thC English translation of the Bible into a creedal statement, a belief which attempts to arrogate to itself the right to decide that a dated, stilted English translation is the standard by which other English translations should be judged and which casts aspersion on Godly folk doing their part in making God's words available to all people.

Finally, there is a belief which although it has no biblical basis, no scriptural support at all and no basis in history either attempts to define who and who is not a Christian solely on the basis of the English Bible translation that they use.

HAHA! There is always a homosexual on every committee of the translation we dislike! Didn't you know that by now? The only question is do they all know each other?

I use the King James Version, however I do realize that it does have problems, as it was translated by clergy who had an axe to grind, thus I go back to the original translation and find the real meaning for the scripture. An example is the Trinity, if you examine the two words Holy Ghost you will find that the word Ghost is the same word used for the Spirit of God, thus it should properly be translated Holy Spirit and not Ghost as this intrepretation is from Papal doctrine.

Now if we just listened to the Holy Spirit, there would be no dissent. Gods word is not for sale, you cannot copyright Gods word, and yet that is just what has being done in the different translations. Gods words cannot be altered or changed, once they have, they go from being truth to being a lie, from giving us life to handing us death. When God speaks , He means what He says,it is not open to interpretation, If someone writes a true story, then another alters just one part, the whole book becomes a lie, because you do not know where the lie is.

Jesus sent us the Holy Spirit to teach us the truth, so Learn to listen to Him.

1: The KJV has a perpetual Crown Copyright within the UK and the British Commonwealth.
2: The KJV adds a considerable number of words to their translation (hint, they are the ones in italics. )
3: God did not give the scriptures in English but in Koine Greek and Hebrew, so yes, there is considerable room for interpretation.

Actually God did not give the scriptures in any language, the people who wrote them did. You can have the truth without having a bible, and you can have a bible and not know the truth, The answers are in Christ alone, and the Holy Spirit our teacher.

Very good post MJ, I agree. The scriptures proclaim to us that Christ is the Word of God, the Way, the Truth and the Life. I love the scriptures but without HolySpirit's teaching and revelation, history has proven that they( the scriptures) just become a tool for deception and bondage.
