John 15:,12 "This is my commandment that ye love ye love one another,as i have loved you.

Who is Jesus talking about?

His disciples?

Or all Christians?

John 13:2a gives the answer:

The evening meal was in progress

This was during the "Last" supper when the words in John 15 were spoken so Jesus was addressing His disciples gathered with Him. Can that command be extrapolated to all believers? I believe yes.

Well i will say one thing.if this command applies to all christians, then either we ignore it,or dont know about it.
I have been reading and participating on various christian forums for over a year now.and i am amazed at the way we fight like cats and dogs.I guess this is what happens when you bring all the different denominations together in one place.

I will disagree that love is simply the absence of conflict.
Is it possible for love and hate to coexist?i have seen alot of hate on these forums.

I dont think God is going to be tolerant of conflict in heaven.

It certainly co-existed in the garden.

I don't think that what you are seeing is hate...you are seeing strong disapproval and intolerence of other opinions and doctrines...gonna get that everywhere I think but I agree, not in heaven!

Blessings!!! :)

He is actually conversing with His disciples. What comes into play however is the Scripture in 2Ti 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,

I am sort of a stickler for reading in context knowing also that the nature of the Bible is such that application can be made to ourselves. In this instance I believe that we Christians should heed what He is saying and apply it to our own lives.
