BOOK ONE

1/ The Lord watches over the ways of the righteous, but the way of the wicked is doomed.

2/ His anger can flare up in a moment. Happy are all who find refuge in Him

3/ Yours is the victory, may Your blessing rest upon Your people.

4/ Now, I shall lie down in peace, for You, Lord, let me live in safety.

5/ You Lord will bless the righteous, surrounding them like a shield.

6/ All my enemies will be shamed, they will be turned back in sudden confusion.

7/ I will give thanks to the Lord for His righteousness and praise His Name.

8/ Lord, our Sovereign, how glorious is Your Name throughout the earth!

9/ Strike the nations with terror, let them know they are but men.

10/ Give justice to the oppressed and do not permit anyone to again inspire terror.

11/ The Lord is righteous and loves justice, the upright will see Him.

12/ The ungodly are everywhere, and wickedness is exalted.

13/ I will sing to the Lord, for He has granted my desires.

14/ When the Lord restores His people to Zion, let them rejoice and be glad!

15/ He that does not take usury or bribes will never be shaken.

16/ You will show me the pathway of life, in Your presence is the fullness of joy.

17/ My plea is just, bless me with a vision of Your presence.

18/ Salvation He gives to His anointed, to David and his descendants forever.

19/ May my words and thoughts be acceptable to You, my Rock and Redeemer.

20/ Lord, give our leader success and hear us, we pray, when we call.

21/ Be exalted, Lord in Your strength and we will sing praises to Your power.

22/ We proclaim the Lord’s deeds to those as yet unborn, that He has done this.

23/ Surely love and mercy will follow me all my days and I will live forever with the Lord.

24/ Who is the King of Glory? Almighty God, He is the King of Glory.

25/ Lord! Redeem Israel, Your people from all their troubles.

26/ My feet are planted firmly, I will give thanks to the Lord in the assembly.

27/ Wait for the Lord, be strong and brave and He will strengthen you.

28/ The Lord Himself will save His people, He will lead and shepherd them.

29/ The Lord will give strength to His people and bless them with peace.

30/ My grief, You have turned to dancing, I will give You thanks forever.

31/ All you whose hope is in the Lord, be strong: fill your hearts with courage.

32/ Rejoice all you righteous, sing and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!

33/ Lord, let Your unfailing love rest upon us, as we have put our trust in You.

34/ The Lord delivers His servants and those who trust Him will not fall.

35/ Then I will tell of Your saving power and praise You all day long.

36/ See how the evildoers are fallen, never to rise again!

37/ The Lord helps the righteous and saves those who trust Him from the wicked.

38/ Come quickly to help me, my Lord and Saviour.

39/ Spare me, Lord, before I depart and am no more.

40/ I am poor and needy, think of me Lord, my help, do not delay Your Deliverance.

41/ Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, for everlasting to everlasting. AMEN

BOOK TWO: [of six books]

42-43/ Why is my soul downcast? I will still trust the Lord, my hope is in Him.

44/ Arise now, Lord, help us for the sake of Your great mercy!

45/ The children of the ancestors will be princes in the Land and all the peoples praise You.

46/ The Lord of Hosts is with us, our fortress is the God of Jacob.

47/ The leaders of the nations join with His people, for all belong to the Lord God of Israel.

48/ For this is our God, our God forever, He will guide us for eternity.

49/ Men of honor and riches, fail to understand that like the beasts, they will die.

50/ He who honors Me and keeps to the right Way, I shall show him My salvation.


51/ In Your good timing, make Zion prosper. Then, delight in Your people’s offerings.

52/ Your loyal servants will praise You forever for what You have done, for that is good.

53/ We wait for His deliverance of Zion, when the Lord restores His people, they will rejoice.

54/ God has rescued me from all troubles and I look in triumph on my enemies.

55/ You, Lord will destroy the treacherous and deceitful men. For my part, I will trust in You.

56/ You have rescued me from death, now I can walk in the light of life.

57/ God, Your grandeur is over the heavens and Your glory above all the earth.

58/ It will be said: there is a reward for the just, there is a God who judges the earth.

59/ God is my fortress and strength, I will sing praises to You.

60/ With God’s help we shall gain the victory, He will trample down the enemies.


61/ I will ever sing praises to His Name, as day after day, I fulfil my vows.

62/ God will reward each person according to what he has done.

63/ All who acknowledge the Lord will be saved, but liars will be silenced.

64/ Then His people will rejoice in the Lord; their refuge and the upright will exult.

65/ Their fields are covered with livestock, their crops bounteous, so they cheer and sing.

66/ Praise to God, who has not withdrawn His love and care for His people.

67/ God will bless us, so that all the earth will fear Him.

68/ How awesome is our God in heaven, He gives power and strength to His people.

69/ The children of His servants will inherit the Land, those who love Him will dwell there.


70/ But I am oppressed and needy, hurry and come to my aid, Lord, you are my rescuer.

71/ I will tell of Your great deeds, as those who sought to harm me are put to shame.

72/ Praise be to His glorious Name forever and may the whole earth be filled with His glory.

BOOK THREE of six,

73/ It is good to draw near to God, my refuge. I will tell of all His great deeds.

74/ Lord, ignore no longer the noise of Your enemies, the uproar from those who oppose You.

75/ He will break down the wicked, but the strength of the righteous will be raised high.

76/ For He breaks the power of leaders and is feared by the kings of the earth.

77-78/ When the earth shook, You guided Your people like a flock led by good shepherds.

79/ Then we Your people, Your flock, will give You thanks and repeat our praise forever.

80/ Turn us again, Lord, make Your Face shine on us, that we may be saved.

81/ But you will be fed with the finest wheat and wild honey.

82/ Rise up Lord and judge the earth, for all the nations are Your inheritance.

83/ So let it be known that You are alone the Most High over all the earth.

84/ Lord God, blessed is the person who trusts in You.

85/ Justice will go before Him and prepares for us the way of His steps.

86/ Lord, our Helper, give us a sign of Your favor, so those who hate us will be ashamed.

87/ Singers and dancers alike will say: the source of all good is in the Lord.

88/ My friends and loved ones are far from me, darkness is now my lot.

89/ Remember how Your servants have been mocked, how Your enemies have taunted us.

90/ May the favor of the Lord God rest upon us. May our work prosper.

91/ Those who love the Lord, will have His salvation and a long life.

92/ Even in old age they will bear fruit, keeping their trust in their Rock.

93/ Your decrees stand firm, holiness adorns Your house, forever.

94/ He will repay the evildoers for their sins, the Lord will destroy them.

95/ I swore that the ancient Israelites would not enter My rest.

96/ Creation will cheer, when He comes in righteousness to judge the earth.

97-98/ Let the righteous people rejoice in their God and praise His Name.

99/ Exalt in the Lord and worship Him at His Holy mountain, for He is holy.

100/ For the Lord is good, His love endures through all the generations.

101/ The Lord will remove all unrighteousness from His holy Land.

102/ The children of those who serve You will remain in Your presence.

103/ Praise the Lord in all His dominions, Bless the Lord, my soul.

104/ Let the ungodly be banished from the earth and the sinners be no more!

105/ The Israelites were given the Holy Land on the condition they kept the Laws.

106/ Save us, Lord and gather us from among the nations, so that we can thank Your Name.

BOOK FIVE. of six.

107/ Whoever is wise, let him take note and reflect on the Lord’s lovingkindness.

108/ Mans help is worthless, only God’s help will bring the victory over our enemies.

109/ For the Lord stands with the downtrodden, He saves them from their oppressors.

110/He will judge the nations, many will die all over the earth. He will hold His head high.

111/ The fear of the Lord is wisdom, those who live by it gain understanding.

112/ The ungodly will see His righteous judgement and be in despair and will perish.

113/ The Lord raises the downtrodden to a place of honor and gives children to the barren.

114/ Tremble earth at the Presence of the Lord, He it is that makes water come out of rock.

115/ The dead cannot praise the Lord, but we, the living will praise Him all our life.

116/ I shall pay my vows to the Lord with all the people, in His House in Jerusalem.

117-118/ Give thanks to the Lord, His mercy endures forever.

119/ We have strayed like lost sheep. Come, search for Your servants; we who keep the Laws.

BOOK SIX

120/ I am a man of peace, but whenever I speak of it, my enemies prepare for war.

121/ The Lord will guard your life, as you come and go, both now and forevermore.

122/ For the sake of the Lord’s House, pray for peace and the wellbeing of His people.

123/ Have mercy on us, for too long we have suffered the contempt of our enemies.

124/ Our help is in the Name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

125/ Do good, Lord, to the upright in heart, but not to evildoers. Peace be upon Israel.

126/ All who sow in tears will reap in joy, bringing home a bountiful harvest.

127/ Blessed is the person with children, they will have support when needed.

128/ May you rejoice in the prosperity of the Holy Land and live to see your grandchildren.

129/ Let the enemies be as grass that withers, let no one give them a blessing.

130-131/ Israel, hope in the Lord, for He alone will remove all your sins.

132/ A King from David’s line will come, He will be glorious and His enemies will be shamed.

133-134/ In the Holy Land, the Creator God will bestow His blessing.

135/ All who fear the Lord, come to Jerusalem, to His Holy place.

136/ Give thanks to Almighty God, for His grace endures forever.

137/ Daughter of Babylon, you will be destroyed, happy are those who repay you.

138/ Lord, you have protected me. Do not abandon the work of Your hands.

139/ Test me, Lord and lead me into the right way of life.

140/ The Lord gives justice to the downtrodden, the upright will live in His presence.

141/ Let the enemies fall into their own traps, while we pass by in safety.

142/ Bring me out from bondage, that I might receive my reward and praise You.

143/ In Your unfailing love for Your servants; destroy now our enemies.

144/ Your people will live in peace and security. Happy are those whose God is the Lord.

145/ The Lord watches over all who love Him, but the wicked He will destroy. Praise Him!

146/ The Lord helps His people. He will reign in Zion for all generations.

147/ To His people the Lord reveals His Word, He has not done this for other peoples.

148/ He raises His people to a place of power and crowns His loyal servants.

149/ Let His servants triumph, to glory in the judgement of the nations.

150/ Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Hallelujah!

Psalm 119 ; the first verse of each stanza:

Psalms 119:1 Happy are they whose life is blameless, who walk according to the Law.

v9 How may a young person lead a blameless life? By living according to Your Word.

v17 Grant this to me, Your servant: let me live, so that I may keep Your Word.

v25 I lie prone in the dust, revive me according to Your Word.

v30 I have chosen the path of faithfulness, I have set Your decrees before me.

v35 Make me go in the path of Your commandments, for that is my delight.

v41 Let Your love descend on me; Your deliverance as You promised.

v49 Keep in mind the Word spoken to Your servant, that which You have taught me to fix my hope.

v57 You are my portion, Lord, I have promised to keep Your Laws.

v65 You have dealt kindly with Your servant, fulfilling Your Word.


Psalms 119:73 Your hands made and formed me, give me understanding to learn Your commandments.

v81 I long with all my heart for Your deliverance, in Your Word, I put my hope.

v89 Your Word is everlasting, Lord, it is firmly fixed in heaven.

v97 How I love Your Laws, I meditate on them all day long.

v105 Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

v113 I hate double minded people, but I love Your Law.

v121 I have done what is just and right, You will not abandon me to my oppressors.

v129 Your instruction is wonderful, therefore I gladly keep it.

v137 How just You are, Lord, how straight and true are Your decrees.

v145 I call with my whole heart, answer me, Lord. I shall keep Your statutes.

v153 See the trouble I am in and set me free, for I do not forget Your Laws.

v161 I am persecuted without cause, but Your Word is my mainstay.

v169-176 Let my cry reach You, as promised You give me knowledge and understanding. May Your hand be quick to help me, I long for Your deliverance.
I have strayed like a lost sheep, come now and search for Your servant.
Let me live to praise You, I am Yours, keep me safe, I pray.
