The main thing the cross was to do was to make us inward believers not outer believers, where the old man is dead and the new man is Christ. Until the believer comes to that new life they are like actors just acting out life, acting out what a Christian is. A Christian is Christ alive in you and expressed as your creation, that is Christianity, Christ in you the hope of glory. Now I don't know how far you want to take in the world we live in today but I know the Apostle Paul took it to it's fullest notion.

Why does he do that time and time again? because it is the only thing that matters. You getting ahead in life and having your every need met and everything is cushie cushie, that does not matter. The only thing that matters is Christ in you and you knowing it and living it period, nothing else matters. Is that straight enough, we have such a watered down Americanized gospel that doesn't work and the people are let down but dont know what to do but buy another book.

There is any number of those that try in the world and in Christianity I suppose to think we should look perfect on the outside. That may be our goal but you are never going to perfect your flesh. Your outer expression is always going to fall short at times, but it can be the knowledge of the on going believers to express Christ who is their life. Can you see the difference, knowing believers can yield their mind to the Christ in them and a new life comes out. Its spontaneous, you don't work it up it's already there ready to flow through you as a new life in him.
Christians may want to give it a try, what is meant by that? The scriptures said they searched the scriptures dailey "to see if those things were so." We need to be good Bereans and seach to find out what the scriptures are saying to me.

I think there are so many Christians who do not realize what God has done for us, and who we are in Him, and instead of believing in His ability to bring His life through our members, and instead of realizing that all sin is removed from us . . . behold the Lamb of God, Who carries away the sin of the world . . . it becomes trying to make our lives look like what we think they should, and so monitoring our behavior instead of keeping our focus on Jesus.

Its spontaneous, you don't work it up it's already there ready to flow through you as a new life in him.

We do not fully realise just how much love and grace God has lavished upon us that we might have a relationship with him.

So many think that they 'must' do this or that in order to be saved.

finally some proper sounding Christians on here its refreshing!! not like the luke-warmness going on in other threads, its an epidemic guys, don't mean 2 bash but just pointing out, Yes "the cross is not a decoration but a declaration" taking up the cross means deny urself daily not go and pick up an object, but people don't know the difference between literal and metaphorical interpretation, yes I agree its about being a berean, study 2 show thyself approved, its the honour of a king 2 search out a matter, if u really want 2 know Gods word ull study, no 2 ways about it.
