a shepherd is a Pastor, and he or she feed with Knowledge and Understanding. scripture, Jeremiah 3:15 "And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding."

the only Pastor in the Church of the Lord Jesus is Jesus himself, the hope of Glory in us. it is him in us who are given to Pastor.

There are folk going about saying that the Lord is their shepherd when in
reality he isn't because people praying for the best while in the back of their
mind dreading the worst, are casting a vote of no-confidence in Christ to
protect his sheep from loss even though he says that will never happen.

• John 10:7-9 . . Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
By me if any man enter in, he shall be saved.

Shepherds that lose sheep do not qualify for the "good" rating because
they're unreliable; but Jesus claimed to comply with his Father's will not just
some of the time, nor even most of the time, but all the time.

• John 8:29 . . I do always those things that please Him.

So then; were the good shepherd to lose even one head of the sheep that
God entrusted to his care, he would not be able to honestly say that he
"always" pleases Him.

The sheep's confidence then, is resting upon Christ's head-strong
determination to satisfy his Father's expectations.

• John 4:34 . . My food-- said Jesus --is to do the will of him who sent me.

Father with a Capital "F" owns our Soul. The general overseers, elders watch, and care for the soul, but is not king and ruler over any soul.

and two, Hebrews 13:17 "Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you." (only those appointed by the Lord Jesus, "and not by men", who the Lord dwells in. for it is the Lord in the person, (man or woman), whom you are obeying.

for all souls are the Lord's and we are his sheep , not a woman or man sheep. pastors, bishops, teachers, ect are here to "SERVE" and not the other way around. they are here to do a work, as well as other to do the work of the same one God. they are no more imporant that, "the lay", person in the body of christ.

so the topic is correct, "The Lord is my shepherd".
