Hebrews 8.
The ot looks forward to Jesus's coming, in the nt we look back, at Jesus's death and resurrection, while also loo, ingredients forward to his second coming.
There is no new message, no new messenger, Jesus has completed what he came to do. There is no need or reason for a new message or messenger.
Sorry, the new covenant does not prohibit new messengers (of that covenant).

Actually it is not the same thing. Try going into a synagogue and telling those there that they are worshipping Jesus.

While God speaks to us still through the Talmud, he speaks far clearer through the new testament.

I say: water is wet.

That won't stop you from arguing "water and wet are two completely different things".

You're being too emotional to rationally breakdown the topic.

Abolishing slavery could be considered yet another.
People today forget the application of slavery was a merciful response to the people starving to death in Egypt. They had nothing else to exchange for food.

People do not want to recognize that slavery is an economic system that still works to this day, even if we are appalled by it. In the movie The Sound of Freedom it explains how child slavery is the fastest growing business in the world, on pace to overcome the illicit drug trade. No respectable person claims slavery today is voluntary like the origins of slavery in the Bible.

I just wanted to point out that slavery is a time tested economic system. The reason it was abolished was NOT because people in the 19th century suddenly got a moral conscious. The reason slavery was abolished is because of the invention of Capitalism and the Industrial Revolution; a free person with an economic motive outproduces a slave. There is no obvious Scriptural condemnation against it.

In fact, the Bible was used to justify slavery, even though it does not a command to enslave but only mentions it as dicta. The Bible makes no moral stand either way. In Philemon Paul implies the slave should be treated well because he turned to Christ, not set free on the moral grounds that slavery, itself, is morally wrong. No one should confuse the Bible ACCEPTING the existence of slavery with APPROVING IT.

Slavery is an economic system that passed the test of time for one reason; it works. Thank God we are free in Christ.

Every Christian is a new messenger of the gospel, you have been implying that there will be a new messenger with a new message.
That is ruled out by the bible verse I've quoted.

The Jewish faith is not Christianity and Christianity is not the Jewish religion.
That is all I have been trying to get across to you.

Sorry you misunderstand what the bible and history teaches.
In the old testament the poor or indebted could sell themselves or family members into a limited form of slavery.
It was never intended to be life long, but was as you've said a form of poor relief.
It like all systems got abused and mishandled, read the prophets rebukes to Israel about the treatment of the poor.
Slavery, chattel slavery for life was permitted as a result of war, but the kidnapping of people in order to sell them as slaves has always been forbidden.

Look at the lists Paul gives of those who will not be admitted into heaven, slave dealers see 1Tim1:10

You yourself admit that slavery today is profitable just as it has always been profitable through history.
It was not changing economics that did away with slavery in the developed world but Christian action through legal means.

What a supremely arrogant thing to say.
It was never intended to be life long
Cite one verse that states foreign forced labor slaves were to ever be freed?
It was not changing economics that did away with slavery in the developed world but Christian action
Obviously, you are projecting misunderstand what the bible and history teaches. After 19 centuries, Christians finally got a conscious about slavery and it had nothing to do with the advent of changing economic conditions from the advent of capitalism and the Industrial Revolution; that's you theory. Bless Your Heart!

I never said that slavery as a result of war was to be temporary.
It was the Hebrews selling themselves into slavery that was to be temporary.
The reason slavery was abolished is because of the invention of Capitalism and the Industrial Revolution; a free person with an economic motive outproduces a slave. There is no obvious Scriptural condemnation against it.
Your comment yet you also admit
Slavery is an economic system that passed the test of time for one reason; it works
Two contradictory comments.
Slavery in the west was abolished because of a developing conscience, it was fought all the way by those who were being made rich by it.

Wrong. You insist that the advent of the industrial revolution was just a coincidence with the end of slavery and the real driver was a developing conscience among Christian’s after 19 centuries.

Facts just don’t matter to some people.

As you say facts don7 matter to some opinions.
Slavery has always been profitable, more profitable then paid employees.

That is not a fact. It was true before the Industrial Revolution. Facts show that a man motivated by profit is more productive than a man who has no profit motive.

What is ‘over time pay?’ It is 50% more profit per hour paid to the productive worker who works above the standard work day or week.

Why is ‘over time pay’ offered? To leverage the greater productivity potential of a man motivated by profit.

Drops mic.

Yet slavery in the US was agricultural not industrial, they weren't paid and there was no overtime.
