But by definition the focus needs to be on the Life, Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ and how belief in that establishes relationship with the One, True God of the Universe.
There. "belief in that establishes relationship" (emphasis in quote above is mine)

Well yes, but if you want to be Originalist about it folks should go back to the actual ancient theme. The Actual "Good News" motif is the announcement of the transfer of a Kingdom. In ancient terms it would be like the town criers announcing to a new area that was conquered by Rome or some other power, "Congratulations, you are no longer under the Persian, Carthaginian etc. rule you are now part of the X empire!" But in this case, it actually is good news, because the announcement is announcing people that were under the reign of Satan but now under the reign of Christ. At least if they want it, there are of course plenty of ways to do back to the old, defeated master.

In the world of marketing and advertising,
they would say, that lacks a call to action.
Hey, that Gospel has called many a man (and many a woman) to a changed life. (Praise God!)

If you're not following the thread, I was analyzing the public proclamations by Peter and Paul in Acts. That's pretty much what they boil down to: Jesus is Messiah the King, crucified and risen from the dead. And He's got the authority to judge the world.

This aligns with what Pavel is saying about euanggellion (the Greek word translated "gospel"): It was used at the time to refer to the announcement that there's a new King in town. (And, like NT Wright likes to say, if Jesus is King, Caesar and his minions ain't.) This gospel doesn't have the marketing pizzazz of John 3:16. It doesn't say anything about Eternal Life, the Atonement, or how to keep your butt posthumously out of the deep fat fryer. But that's what Peter and Paul preached. It's a call to fealty to the new king.

A follow-up to a previous topic:

Respondents had great difficulty in defining what the one gospel is.
Disagreeing with me that there were many gospels, they brought more gospels of their own.

There was no consensus about what the ONE gospel is.

This topic is to focus on "WHAT is the one gospel?"

The one gospel - What is it?
The one Gospel- aka " the good news"
God is love.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God - the Word who became flesh and dwelt among us- He came from heaven to earth to give His sinless life for us- because He loves us. And by trusting in Him we have eternal life in His name.
He is our King of Kings and Lord of lords- our only Lord and Master.
We all have sinned- ONLY His blood washes away our sins, and by believing Him we are born anew by the Spirit of God in us.
Now, we walk in newness of life being led by the Spirit in us/ God in us/Christ in us- our bodies are His holy temple-
So, by walking humbly with our God, and loving others as he commanded, we show His love by our deeds, and we will also tell others about His love for us- and we remain one with Him.
~We love Him because He first loved us.~
After we leave this world in faith- we will live eternally where there is no more death or illness or pain and we will live with our God.

The gospel is simple enough for a child. Instead of arguing about it- we should joyously live it.

There you go.
If Jesus has the authority to judge the world, then a person needs to prepare themselves for that.

The message by John the Baptist is as simple as it gets, "repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand".
"Repent" means to me, a complete change of one's heart from things of this world towards the things of, what?
God's Kingdom.
Scripture descibes John as one proclaiming One who was to precede him and provide the way.
We all I hope, know Who that is, some call him Jesus others decided to call Him Yeshua.
The reason I call Him Yeshua is, as far as I can tell with any language, is one's name will usually be intended to be pronounced in one's own language, I assume.
So, when the angel Gabriel said to Mary in her language the name of Messiah, I'll give effort to pronounce it to sound the same way, if I can.
I've learned through scripture that He and everyone else who believe will receive a new name eventually, when the true name of the Father is revealed when Yeshua returns.
Is it important the name we give Him, as long as what He taught is applied in our lives?

So far, I haven't seen and read too much "hell and damnation" on previous posts with regards to the Kindom which tells me i'm in a good, environment here.

Here's a great example of tailoring the "gospel" message to the situation.

An incredibly wealthy Saudi family had their son kidnapped in Sudan. Story below.
When the family had failed at every effort to find their son, a housekeeper approached them.
She read to them the prison stories of Peter and the Apostle Paul in Philippi.
They prayed for God to do it again.

Shortly after this they heard from their son. He was found wandering the area after walking away from captivity.
He testified to having been visited by Jesus in prison. His bindings fell off and the door opened before him.

Saudi Richest Family Breaks Silence After Their Conversion Goes Viral: 'Jesus is Real, Allah is Not'

When Rayan Al-Rashidi was kidnapped by armed men in Sudan, his family deployed every resource available to them.
Private security firms. Government diplomats. Ransom negotiations. Prayers in the most prominent mosques across five continents.
Nothing worked. Nobody could find him. Nobody could reach his captors. For three weeks, one of the most powerful families
in Saudi Arabia sat in the silence of complete helplessness. Then everything changed. In this powerful true-life testimony,
Tariq Al-Rashidi, firstborn son of the Al-Rashidi family, takes you through the incredible story of how a family that sponsored
Islamic dawah programs across the world, funded mosque constructions in multiple countries, and devoted their entire lives
to Islam, encountered the living Jesus Christ in the most unexpected and undeniable way possible. This is the story of a son
who was visited by a man in white in a locked room in Sudan. A family that left behind a billion-dollar empire for their faith.
And a God who proved himself real when every other option had failed.

In a nutshell, the one gospel is the "good news" of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) and is the power of God unto salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. (Romans 1:16)
in a nutshell YOU SPOT ON RIGHT . SO i cut and copied it and pasted it for every man , woman and perhaps child , if some be here ,
can READ IT .
And now a word .
Beware lest that comes upon you which is wri tten in the prophets
Behold wonder and PERISH for i work a work in your days that you will in no way BELEIVE though a man declare it unto you .
No faith in JESUS is a second death sentence .
And we cannot preach both beleif and unbeleif or its only UNBELIEF we ever had .
meaning KICK this interfaith interreligious lie of anti christ to the curb . THEM false religions
DO NOT serve the GOD I DO or any other true christain does .
AND HOW DO I KNOW THAT .
CAUSE IF THEY DID , they had not REJECTED THE VERY CHRIST OF GOD , which we SHEEP DO BLEIEVE IS THE CHRIST .
In fact
JOHN , the man who wrote more about LOVE had this to day .
IF one beleives NOT the testimony GOD gave OF THE SON
That man calls GOD A LIAR . AINT NO WAY that one be serving the SAME GOD WE DO my friend .
WE have set to our seal THAT GOD IS TRUE . WE BELEIVED HIS TESTIMONY ON THE SON .
THEY say otherwise . HE who HEARS us is of GOD but he who hears NOT us is NOT of GOD . same john wrote that .
BUT JESUS first said it .

The one gospel is quite simple really. Just as the disciples and early Christians testified as eye witnesses. That Jesus the Son of God was crucified for our sins and rose again on the 3rd day so that we may be saved from sin and death and have eternal life.

Its as simple as that. But because its so simple people complicate it and want to add more and more.

But if you think about it this is a claim that people can either take as gospel truth or reject and disbelieve that such a thing can and has happened.

Not only do they have to believe that Christ is the Messiah but also that He rose from the dead. Its a pretty big claim.

Thomas did not believe even though he spent time with Christ and seen His miracles and heard His truths. But he did when he touched Christs wounds.

But Christ said greater are those that believe and do not see.

So though its a simple message it is not an easy one for some if not many living in a skeptical world that want evidence. It means you literally have to believe despite there being no physical evidence.

It may take some a long time to get to the point where they are willing to believe. Its not something you can convince people of with evidence and good arguements. Its a matter of trusting that what Christ and His followers said.

Such is the nature of salvation that this simple claim challenges people and can be made complicated. But primarily its not and its a personal thing between the person and God in which Gods spirit will convict and its up to the person to take Him at His word.

I think this simple message has been lost and under valued. But its the same claim today as it was in the early church and throughout time. When a Christian has been saved they want to share the good news as a witness just like the early followers. They will testify like in court that this is the truth. Then its up to the person to believe the gospel or not.

One modern day problem I think is that in a postmodernist world where everything has become relative and there are many false Christians. People have given a bad reputation to the gospel. They don't act like they have been saved. This gives a false and hypocritical view to people and destroys trust.

So I think as the bible says first be reconciled to God and transformed by the spirit so that people see the gospel at work. In that way the words become more powerful as people will see it being lived out.
