Jesus Christ founded the faith on His redemptive work and teachings of righteousness. Yet He knew that the only way the world and the unsaved would come to Christ to the Light is through the testimony and witness of the believers. In Acts 1:8 He gave us the Holy Spirit to empower us to witness to all of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The gospel is effective not only through pulpit preaching but also through the witness in the walk, talk, deeds and life of the believer. Our testimonies should be firery pillars drawing people to the light of Christ Jesus in us. Why have we allowed our light to dim out? Why have we lowered the standard of our witness? Why are our witnessing not drawing people to CHrist? What is the Holy Spirit's role in the testimony & witness of the believer?

not sure "our light" has dimmed. I believe more and more people prefer the darkness, I found it easier to share Christ with others 10yrs ago, now people just look at you like your an idiot, "sin, what is sin", that is something man made up.

America loves the darkness, just watching the TV shows and commercials, you see the sinful lifestyles America now excepts as normal behavior, there is no more shame.

The fault of many in the church is they have conformed to the world, many call themselves "Christian", but there will come a time when Jesus will tell them, " I never knew you".

That is so true sister. And isn't it something when your Creator says depart from me I NEVER knew thee. He created you and would say that. To me I would not want God to tell me that! That is why I strive to live a life of a godly testimony and witness so He can say "Well Done, thy good and faithful servant!"

I think we've come more under the sway of the opinions and biases of others as an extension of recent modern culture.

In addition, I think we try to do many things without the Holy Spirit, thinking that we can do a better job ourselves with western logic and persuasive emotional arguments from our perspective.
