this is talking in my opinion about the inability to control lofty high minded self.

What is this "power of the air"?

I will reveal the answer in a moment, but first I wish to point out something that is even more important...

"in time past ye walked according to the course of this world"

Christians are not taught the real meaning of the above phrase. I will give a hint...

1 Peter 3:20
"Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water."

'Time Past' is not referring to our younger days. It is referring to a place much further back in time when...

• We walked according to the course of this world
• We were literally a Child of Disobedience (as per 1st Peter 3:20)

In other words, we were UNSAVED and stayed that way until we died and ended up in prison, by which Jesus pre-ordained us unto Salvation...

1 Peter 3:19
"By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;"

After Jesus preached to us in Hell, we were then curiously wrought in the Lowest Parts of the Earth...

Psalms 139:15
"My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth."

And here we are.

OK, now for the answer to the question.

Air is Breath as well as the Spirit of God...

Job 27:3
"All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils;"

There are Four Spirits of the Air...

Zechariah 6:5
"And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth."

These Four Spirits correspond to the Four Living Creatures of Ezekiel...

Ezekiel 1:5
"Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man."

Their faces correspond to the Four Forces of Nature...

• Lion: Electromagnetism
• Ox: Strong Force
• Eagle: Gravity
• Man: Weak Force

Each Living Creature is *Powered* by the Holy Ghost 'Wheels'...

Ezekiel 1:20
"Whithersoever the spirit was to go, they went, thither was their spirit to go; and the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels."

Thus the Power of the Air is the Holy Ghost, which is the Spirit of God in which Satan is the 'Prince' of. In other words, Satan has influence and control over Mankind.

Note that the 'Eyes' in the Ring Orbitals of the Wheels are in fact Electrons. Thus, the Power is quite literally Electromagnetism...

Acts 1:8
"But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."

The Eyes can also act as Witnesses.

One last thing...

Air is mostly Nitrogen. Thus the Four Living Creatures ultimately represent the Four Nitrogenous Bases that make up all life.

• Cytosine
• Thymine

Since Mankind is made of the Seed (Nitrogenous Bases) of the Serpent, our DNA is corrupted and must have a new engraving.

The Stone with Seven Eyes is literally a Nitrogenous Base...

Zechariah 3:9
"For behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua; upon one stone shall be seven eyes: behold, I will engrave the graving thereof, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day."

The Prince of the Power of the Nitrogenous Bases will no longer have dominion over the DNA Spirit of Mankind.

With this information, we can now understand what Satan was doing in this verse...

Zechariah 3:1
"And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him."

Satan was claiming what was rightfully his, however the Blood of Jesus will cleanse the iniquity of Prince of the Power of the Air until he no longer has dominion.

The 'filthy garments' are replaced by a NEW NAME and NEW STONE WITH SEVEN EYES...

Revelation 5:6
"And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth."

Understand?

Each of the Four Spirits of the Air are made up of the Seven Spirits of God...

• Spirit = Electron
• Seven Spirits = Nitrogen
• Four Spirits of Heaven = Four Nitrogenous Bases

Conclusion:
Satan is the Prince over the *SPIRIT* of the *NUCLEOBASES* of Mankind until the High Priest comes to restore all things.

Since you have entered your initial post you have also referenced Ephesians 6:12, understandably. However, Satan is called 'the god of this world' (2 Corinthians 4:4), and this spiritual power is called, 'the prince of the power of the air': in other words it reigns, or rules the darkness of this world.

'Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying,
I am the light of the world:
he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness,
but shall have the light of life.'
(John 8:12)

Our Lord did not correct Satan when he made the claim he made, He did not deny the truth of what he had said, He simply told Satan to get out of his way, and refused to worship him.

'Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh,
despise dominion,
and speak evil of dignities.
Yet Michael the archangel,
when contending with the devil
he disputed about the body of Moses,
durst not bring against him a railing accusation,
but said, "The Lord rebuke thee."
(Jude 1:9)

* Satan, though the enemy of our souls, is none the less 'a dignity' in the spirit realm (Ephesians 6:12), and we should, like Michael the Archangel, not speak evil against him.

Now imagine if that was literal, which I believe it is.

Think of the word 'quickened' and how it is used here...

1 Corinthians 15:36
"Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:"

The word Quickened, in the above context, literally means to begin a NEW LIFE in a NEW BODY from a NEW SEED...

1 Corinthians 15:37
"And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:"

Those that 'water down' and 'spiritualize away' the Word of God will never see the Truth behind what is really being taught.

The Bible is way more literal than most think.

What is the Power of the Air?

Ezekiel 37:9
"Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live."

Were the Dry Bones just some poetry about our rebellious days of youth?

No, they were DEAD people, brought back to life by the Four Spirits of the Power of the Air.

So again... what is the Power of the Air?

"And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand."

See it? Two shall be one? As in DNA and Chromosomes?

I've long read this passage this way: The prince who is over the power of the air, this prince is the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience.

But I've recently come to realize that's not what the verse is saying.

The spirit that now works in the children of disobedience is the "power of the air", which has a prince.

This is from Vincent:



1 Corinthians 2:12 "Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God."

"Power", here, is from exousia, for Authority.

Yes. Actually the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience is in accord with the course of this world.

Satan is the god of this world, so the prince in ephesians 2 may be an under demon, instead of Satan himself. this "prince" has authority or jurisdiction in the atmosphere which is an angelic realm and demonic realm. The details are not spelled out in Scripture.

Keeping in mind the rest of Scripture about satan, demons and the authority they have, I see this being understood as such:

Where before, you also use to walk, according to the designs or organization of the world, which is is accord with the prince over the atmosphere, the very breathe that is now working in the children of disobedience. (with breathe being the foundation or way people in this instance think and plan)

Well that is how I see it based on the way the verse is constructed and keeping it in harmony with the rest of SCripture concerning Satan and his fallen organized hosts.

Let us remember that Satan has an organized "government" if you will. Michael teh Archangel spent 21 days fighting the prince demon of Persia, and we know that Satan has prinicpalities, powers, spiritual wickedness in high places and also personal demons to buffet believers.
