And how would Peter know that anything Paul said was equal to scripture? And when did he say that?
I hope these verses of Scripture don't get twisted . . .

2Pe 3:14-18
Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; (15) and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation—as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, (16) as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures. (17) You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked; (18) but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.

Try 2Peter3:15......Paul wrote with the “ Wisdom Of God”....if the Wisdom Of God does not qualify one, what does? .....Peter referred to Paul’s Letters as * Other* Scripture ......why be so obstinate ......it’s obvious Jesus used Paul as His “ mouthpiece” after His ascension back to Heaven.....
There’s nothing in that verse that suggests to me that either Paul or Peter were perfect:

[15] And count the forbearance of our Lord as salvation. So also our beloved brother Paul wrote to you according to the wisdom given him,
[16] speaking of this as he does in all his letters. There are some things in them hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other scriptures. 2 Peter 3:15-16 RSV

I don't believe either Paul or Peter were perfect. They both had helpful insights.

Closer and closer to the Lord as time passes.
Staying in the bible and learning what God inspired not only draws us closer to the Lord , it keeps us refreshed and close to the Lord .
Too many men are abandonding it , many thinking they have become so wise that they no longer need to stay in those pages .
My friend , that would be a real scary place to be ...........
So my advice is , let none be highminded or think they already got what they think they needed from scripture and move onward
out of said bible . That is a deadly and dangerous mindset .

yes , even peter told the church they would be wise to heed unto the true prophecy given him and the other apostels
and yes he made mention of paul as one to also learn from . exactly . Stick to the bible and let no man sway anyone from those pages .

Of course not......but his letters are as “ perfect” as anything from Genesis to Revelation.....
Exactly . THE DOCTRINE THEY DELIVERED WAS PERFECT . WE must CLING TO IT .
Anything inspired by the HOLY GHOST IS GOOD FOR DOCTRINE , FOR REPROOF , FOR CORRECTION
for instruction in righteousness . Cling to the lovely truth in the bible .

I think there are instances he speaks for himself without making certain to point that out.
My best guess is you might be picking and choosing what You THINK , so as to justify why you do as you do .
When we start choosing and picking what doctrine to follow and what to overlook , we are gonna head down hill fast .

I believe constant prayer (1 Thessalonians 5:17) brings us closer and closer to the Lord.

I feel I must obey God and Jesus - they are quoted frequently in the Bible. I don't consider Paul to be on the same plane as God and Jesus.

How would you even know God or Jesus if you didn't read your Bible?
The Bible is either all true, or it isn't. If part of it isn't, none of us will have a problem on Judgement Day, because we can argue that we weren't sure of anything.
Jesus told us to Search the Scriptures. @ Tim 3:16 says:"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:"

Why would someone not believe 100% its veracity? Is there something objectionable to you that Paul writes about?

They aren't quoted as often.
We know Moses, David, and Jonah weren't perfect, but they are all prophets through whom Scripture is communicated and preserved for our edification.

Act 1:16 "Men and brethren, this Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus;

No man is on the same plane as GOD or Christ . But all things they wrote are good for us . And those letters were Spirit inspired .
Peter , paul , jude , james , john , those are very important that we learn those writings as well .
We should stay grounded in all of it .

Yes, we're dancing around this one.

He wrote us a book so we could know Him. I suggest we not disregard that book, but accord it a proper place.

Much love!
I don't think we're dancing. The purpose of the Bible is to introduce us to God. If someone reads the Bible without trying to get to know God, what has he accomplished?
