Just wondering what I did THIS time! lol...help?
I guess not every system is perfect.
I had a time when it came and went. And I sometime get 'Soandso' quoted your post...but when I click on it it wasn't my post that the person was answering!
Hopeful it will re-fix itself.
You only other choice is to click "New Posts" up top in the black bar.
One of those numbers is for your "alerts". Once you click on the alerts to look at them the number will disappear even if you have not read them all. They are still there, but the number of them is lost. You simply have to remember the number if you wish to go through those alerts.Bah hum BUG! lol...always seem to be bugs in all things internet! lol

The same thing is true for the number for your "inbox". It simply tells that you have new personal messages. Once you click on it the number will disappear even if you have not yet read the messages.
Yes, this is just the way the system works. With only alert it is no problem. I have numbers as high as 15 or 20. When you go into you lose the number. What I do when there are several when I first go is to count from the latest one backwards to the original alert number and mark down the time, date, topic, person. After I read each one and respond, I then go in again to the next one in line. It'll get more complicated if additional alerts are sent to you while you are still addressing the ones you counted the first time.Yes amadeus, this I know but when I get the pop-up while reading a thread...when I go to see who alerted...there is no number anymore...even though I hadn't even clicked on it. It doesn't really matter because the new alert is always there anyhow. Thank you!
God bless!

I often have the same problem keeping track especially if I haven't been online in a long while and the number is high. The worst thing if you lose track of which number you are on is you either skip some or do some more than once.Good one John, I never thought of it maybe being after she had looked at them the first time. :)
I always see the number...then I count down the list until I hit whatever number was showing.
Then I click on each one upward checking where I had been quoted...and I respond...sometimes I have gone from the top downward, but when others keep getting added to the top then I forget my numbers Haha!!

Nancy, what's really going on is once you click that first red alert, big brother then takes over and continues to record your life for the end timesSame here Helen! If they were subdued we would know right away which ones were not yet seen by us.

Girls, girls, girls, there's not to me really.
Yeah, right!!!!!
He's a modern man with a past.
He's the greatest lover ever known.
I can relate to him.
I sort of look like him too.
No, he's not Don Juan or Casanova.
They are second rate.
This man is my alter-ego.
And he loves to tango just like me.
My type of music. You are like unto one who is, by far, the funniest guy on here, thanks for all the laughs and I hope God blesses you above and beyond your wildest dreams :)
