20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. - John 14:20.

The knowing 'believer or a knowing believer' has their relationship with God based on 'the finished work of the cross.'

If you base your relationship with God on; 'the church is not ready (I've heard that all my life) - the people aren't holy enough (ever hear that one) - we haven't come to the place we ought to be - we don't rule and reign like we should - on and on it goes.'

That is a works based relationship with God and has not come to understand the finished work of God at the cross by Christ' Jesus. If you go past or around or plainly don't recognize what it is that happened on Calvary - you have no rest because your relationship is based on works, it is that simple.

Finished simply means - finished. Done - over - complete - finished, nothing else for God to do, it is done. His job of going after humanity and reconciling them back to himself is completed task - it is over - through. He has rested from his work because "it is finished." What did Jesus finish and complete on Galgotha's hill? Good question and the believer should search it out. Learn what happened if you want to know about anything the scriptures bring out. The scriptures bring out everything the believer needs to know - if it is written we need to look at it, study it, labor on it, so the Holyspirit has time to teach you, before you move to some other subject. Be patient in the scriptures, it is not the Enquire Magazine you can't thump through and know what it has to say to the church.

The scriptures have plenty to say - they never quit speaking to you if you listen and take some time to do so. I'm always amazed that people that think God is hiding from them the Holyspirit is hard to hear - patience. You live in a world that never quits turning and everything that makes it turn will distract you from taking your time and waiting, listening, patiently hearing what "the Spirit would say to the church." It could be called - microwave christianity. In an instant, we want it now, like the commercial says.

If you were to listen to the Holy Spirit He would teach you and tell you that you rule and reign right now by Jesus Christ. God has already translated you into the kingdom of his dear Son. Preachers preaching all this stuff that needs to happen is a farce - it has already happened - it is finished - done - it is complete - by Christ on the cross of Calvary's cursed tree. You may need to find out about it but "it is finished." Blessed be the name of the Lord. Bless His Holy name! Glory to God.

Yes @soul man,

All is well today. For both you and I and all who believe, in the spirit, this is true every day isn't it? It is only in the flesh that things are not always 'well'. Praise God! That we have a Saviour, and that we are declared to be 'complete' in Him.

With love in Christ Jesus

Jesus’ finished work does not empower anyone to live a self indulgent life of sin and debauchery after salvation, and remain in Christ, as OSAS false doctrine claims.

Hello @Curtis,

Please don't try to diminish the wondrous fact of the rest that God brings the believer into in Christ Jesus, by introducing a subject to the thread that it was never intended to have.

We have died with Christ, have been buried and quickened with Him, and have been raised with Him to walk in newness of life before the Father, 'In Him'. It is all of God in Christ. His workmanship!

Praise His Holy Name!

In Christ Jesus
Chris

Ok, I'm curious where you came up with the idea?
