Galatians 1:15-18 (NASB)
But when God, who had set me apart even from my mother’s womb and called me through His grace, was pleased to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult with flesh and blood, nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went away ~~~~~~”
“But when God”
God is the first mover, He is the one Who has started our moving towards Him, He is the One that has called....This is God’s work of grace for us and the calling that is in and upon us....
“to reveal His Son in me”
This is what we are all called to, to have Christ revealed in us... So that His righteousness might be manifested in us, and than that righteousness be manifested to the world....
“I did not immediately consult with flesh and blood”...
This is the first thing Paul did after recognizing God’s call in His life, was to go to God, not to man... For this is where a believer’s allegiance lies...Not with man but with God...
For as our relationship and fellowship with Him grows, it is this that will grow, build, establish, and make this calling and election of ours sure....Consulting not with flesh and blood but with the Spirit that it pleased God to cause to dwell in us... For of a truth, if we are His, His Spirit has come to make His abode in us...It is getting to know this Spirit, this Christ in us, that is now to be that, that is of first importance in our lives...
“I went away”
This is Paul separating himself to follow Christ... Paul, he left all of his own desires, his own will, his own plans of life to follow Christ... In whatever station God has called one in life, one can separate themselves onto God...One can turn the desire of ones heart to God...If poor it matters not, if rich, it matters not, if one has this, it matters not, if one has that, it matters not.....
For we all have the same high calling of Christ in our lives. Which calling supersedes all the desires of this life, now the manifestation of righteousness in all we do, is to be the desire and purpose of our lives...
We all have the same Master in Heaven and it is to this Master are we accountable and to Him alone does our allegiance lie....It is this new Master, the One who has committed His very heart to the revealing of Himself in us, do we need to get to know, in a constantly increasing degree of fellowship..
For as those that have been called by Him, of a truth is He in us... To whatever degree we recognize this truth, it is this desire towards faith that will grow to fill our whole lives with Christ.
“I did not immediately consult with flesh and blood”
Paul was not looking for, and did not need man’s approval... He was looking to please the one that had called him unto Himself...
“I did not immediately”
Paul’s first allegiance was to God, he later went to present his Gospel that God had revealed in him to the Apostles that were in Christ before him. For a confirmation, so he might get a witness that he had run correctly.. (As we all will learn that we will continually do, once we learn the voice of God in us)....But his first allegiance was to the Christ in him when.....
“when it pleased God to reveal His Son in me”
So, since it does please God to reveal His Son in each and every one of us....
Be blessed in the revealing...
A fellow servant of His, Not me
