Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, - Romans 16:25.
There is something that needs to be seen in this verse. It is the greatest - identification verse - in all of scripture. It identifies - before the world began God had a plan. What is the mystery of God? the mystery of God is; it is revealed God had a plan and in the plan was a birth. God was going to birth his own children, by taking a part of himself - Christ - and birth him in believers. That is 'the plan of God before the world began." it was kept hid in God - until he reveals his plan to the Apostle Paul. According to Romans 16:25, no man knew what God would ultimately do in creation. You cannot find it written in the Old Testiment..you cannot find it written anywhere except in John 3:3. Jesus says something very profound to Nicodemus, and Nicodemus had no idea what he was talking about. Jesus dropped the subject from there because without the Holy Spirit you cannot understand this birth.
The mystery of God is written in Colossians 1.
to whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: - Colossians 1:27.
Look at that verse very close. 'The mystery of God is; Christ in you.' What is Christ in you? Christ in you is the salvation of all humanity that would believe, and with that salvation comes a birthing. Born again. What is it that makes a child of God? they are born again..and the born again have been born again; by Christ in you - that is a birth. Birthed by God the father..by Christ in you the seed of God.
Paul says in our text verse, Romans 16:25; the gospel must be preached "according to the revelation of the mystery." You cannot even preach the gospel without 'the revelation of the mystery,' which is; Christ in you! You may say alot of good things..you can preach the cross and all that Jesus said and did while on this earth, but without "the revelation of the mystery" revealed to you, in you..you cannot preach the gospel according to Paul.. not in the fullness that God intended. You can have bits and pieces..you can get a little here, and a little there..but the revelation gospel cannot be preached without revelation..'the revelation of Christ in you.'
What is the gospel? the gospel is "the revelation gospel.. Christ revealed in you," Paul's gospel, he referrs to time and again as; my gospel. Why is Paul so adamant about his gospel? because his gospel is the gospel that was given to him, to give to us, Eph 3:3 - the born again. It is the gospel of grace.The gospel of grace is; Jesus Christ brithed in believers. He who knew no sin..now dwells and lives and moves, in those that knew nothing but sin. That is grace and that grace has to have a gospel message to those that have received him. They need to know what the gospel is!
The gospel is not what man says it is..it is not someone that can perform behind a pulpit..or pulling scriptures out of here and there to prove a point. The gospel is; a person, and that person of Jesus Christ must be revealed in you. Every born again believer needs a revelation of Jesus Christ, of the indwelling Christ..the Christ that was birthed in you the moment you believed.
That is what 'the gospel' is; according to what is written in the Pauline epistles!
