Peter believed hence knew when he said thou art the Christ, didn’t Jesus witness to the fact that Peter wouldn’t have known unless the Father revealed it?
Math:16:17: And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
Hence how does one come to believe? It’s by revelation correct? And that revelation that God really is and the Way really is through Jesus Christ is known by revelation, therefore believed. For example Theists believe there is a God (Creator and Judge) but don’t know God and don’t know that He is, as a certainty. As in, you know that you know that you know.
And by who is God revealed, surly it is of God therefore by the will of God does God reveal Himself that He is. No one makes the Lord God reveal Himself.
A simple example is a Billy Graham speech given to thousands in a stadium some see and come to know and some don’t. They all heard the same words and physically saw the same things.
The revelation is to the chosen, Jesus revealed Himself to the chosen after His resurrection. Hie didn’t reveal Himself to the Pharisees did He? And also, didn't Jesus tell the Apostles that He chose them and they didn’t choose Him? Wasn’t Saul now Paul persecuting believers one the road to Damascus. Paul didn’t chose to have the Lord Himself reveal Himself to Paul. Saul didn't believe in Jesus as the Christ until it was revealed to him.
