"The timelessness of eternity". Someone once asked me what that phrase meant, and if I could give a concrete example to describe it. This is the example I gave. Suppose The entire planet earth is covered with a layer of sand one mile deep. Once every one hundred years, a little bird comes to earth and picks up one grain of sand in its beak and flies away until another hundred years have passed, and then it comes back and picks up another grain of sand and flies away. How many millions, and millions of years would go by until that little bird had taken away all the sand that had covered the earth? And after all that time, that would be just the very beginning of eternity, just the very first second of eternity, so to speak.
