The Bible is the Living Word of God. On a personal level, how does one deal with and explain that? It is really, quite simple. Each successive time that I have read through the scriptures and prayed for God to teach e what He would have for me to learn, I have received new revelations of the workings, the nature of God and what He wants from His creation. Although I have been reading through and studying the Holy Scriptures for the past nineteen years, it is still the most exciting book I have ever read... each time I read it.

Recently, I have been attacked for teaching of the Triune nature of God, the three persons being God, the Father, God, the Son and God, the Holy Spirit. These are the three "persons” of the One God Head. I will not lie to anyone and pretend to be able to explain all the intricate inner workings of the One God, manifested in three persons, it's not a requirement. What is required is exactly what I have done with the teaching of scripture. I have not just believed it to be the truth, I base a great part of my very existence on the "fact” that it is truth that I will understand better on the other side of this lie.
For me, it is the absolute truth!

How can I arrive at such a conclusion?

Plural Godhead...Gen.1:26 & 3:22

Threefold benediction...Num. 6:24-26

Father and Son (Old Testament)...Pro. 30:2-4

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord...Isa. 6:3

God and the Holy Spirit...Isa. 48:16

Trinity in one verse...Matt. 28:19

Oneness of Jesus and God...John 12:44-45 & 15:26-27

The Christ's Trinitarian teaching...John 14:24-31 & 15:26-27

Trinitarian benediction... 2Cor. 13:14

The Christ, God and the Holy Spirit...Eph. 2:22

Fullness of Deity...Col. 2:9-10

Spiritual function of the Father and the Son...2Thes. 3:5

Three, who bear record...1John 5:6-8

(copied from the book, "Where To Find It In The Bible."

This is by no means an all inclusive study of the subject but it is enough to see the truth!

Personally, I think someone attacking you is very unfortunate.
Also, I handle attacks with saying ,
'Yeah, I could be wrong - and you could be wrong - who cares -
all I care about is I love God, He loves me and I can feel it. I'm happy and in love and who cares who's right or wrong.
The Scriptures are to be understood and realized not to be argued over." Then, I usually say, so how are the kids?

Well, I think people are so intent on fully understanding God that they end up missing the forest for the trees. God has blessed us with a very good textual illustration of himself aside from those that might be blessed with a little more. He did a wonderful job of explaining himself to a far simpler creation which only understands the concept of self as one thing, in one place, at one time. Christianity's greatest cancer might be that we always attempt to portray God in our terms. I believe this is a strong reason for this caution:

[bible=I Petter 1:20 KJV]
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.[/bible]

I went back to the King's English because the KJV simply says this the best. God wrote Scripture to speak to us. God wrote Scripture so that we could learn him. God did not write Scripture so we could build on own version of it one way or another. That's why I have an issue with translations and people picking certain translations to exclusively use. Anything not the original text that you put your hands on will have been translated (or transcribed) by man. If you don't believe it, shame on you because your logic fails that one is better than the other for this reason. My winding post states this because this is part of the argument made against a three person God. (It's the oldest bad argument in the book;the Scriptures don't really say that as sure as you won't die from the fruit...)

With that said, the concept of someone so powerful that he cab be multiple places at one time is beyond us. Scripture clearly speaks of a Christ who was around at all times - NOT a created man:

[bible=Revelation 1:8]
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
[/bible]

The Holy Spirit is with us through the Bible, so I don't know why the concept is so hard to grasp.

Good morning Miss Hepburn

It is very hurtful to the God you say you love, to respond.........
“Yeah, I could be wrong - and you could be wrong - who cares -“

God cares, because we are talking about the truths of His Word.

Actually the Bible gives us this instruction.....
Jude 1:3
“Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort [you] that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.”

We are to contend for the faith and not be willing to so easily deny it.

And good afternoon to you you big ape, LOL! Love that name.

We're probably all wrong.

And I don't care - I love God, He loves me, He is Love and He loves us all.
If someone doesn't think He exists - I don't care - He still loves 'im and will
reel 'im in, too; all part of the Plan.

End of story for me. Very simple. and my not caring
pulls 'em in fast - instead of engaging in some scripture reading with them.
To each his own. It's working just fine for me -to give it up to Him and walk in the confidence their time
is right around the corner. I got a big smile on my face - and they see it - everytime they see me.
Constant, always there.
:)

If we're probably all wrong, how do you know God loves you, he is love, and he loves us all? How do you even know He exists at all if we're probably all wrong?

In my house
God is three persons in one. He is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. That is what I voted for. :)

1 John 5:7 And there are three who give testimony in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost. And these three are one.

The Word became flesh and dwelled among us - that would be the Son, Jesus Christ.

I like to think of God the Father as mind, Jesus the Son as heart and the Holy Spirit as action. Simplistic, yes - but 3 in 1.

Then you like to think contrary to your professed Roman Catholic faith. Shall I quote the Catholic Catechism for you? Or maybe you could show everyone where either Scripture or 'tradition' lends support for your idea of the Trinity.

I or we could be all wrong about a Triune God.
Whether He loves me and everyone is because of direct personal insight given to me and felt profoundly
many times...not from reading something.

Whether someone believes in a Triune God is of absolutely no interest to me - maybe that is better than saying , I don't care..
so it doesn't rub people the wrong way.

I am simply so pleased and it warms my heart when someone loves the Creator - whether they
picture Him with a flute in His hand or a Goddess - makes no difference to me.
Mother God, Father God, a Vapor, a Spirit, a Blue Boy it does not interest me.
I was told to love everyone as myself and to love God with all my heart and mind.
I was never told to judge another's experience.
I stick to that.
Sorry it riles people up.

I also don't mind or care or have any interest in what anyone believes. Jew, atheist, Catholic or SDA , reincarnation, no reincarnation...
I'd like you happy and in love with our Father - but I have no control over that - I can just express my happiness
in my love affair with the Lord.
Doctrine, dogma, interpretations of scriptures are not my thing.
I'll leave that to intellectuals - it takes my focus away from God - you know, looking at the roadmap and then
discussing it.
Why? If I focus on the things above and not the things on the earth - I'm there!

But, I'm seeing no matter how I express where I am at - it seems to bother people here.

Why? If you said there is no God or God is mean...oh well...He'll take care of that one day.
Why get ruffled.
Confidence in God and His ways is such freedom.

miss hepburn you know you can not say Gods love is above all else, and not exspect the enemy to attack. what were you thinking? you know the reason the scriptures are so missunderstood is because of lack of love.i'd rather have 1 ounch of love than 10 pounds of understanding  but thank God i can have both, if i walk after love first :D

I personally don't believe the bible is the living Word of God... I believe Jesus is... and the bible testifies to Him...

You didn't really say that here.
LOL, Love ya.
And welcome Robbie.

I think the Triune God matters because he's created us in his image. His image is tri-fold, each member understands love and loves the other.
We are created in this image- of love relationships.

That's exactly what Christ builds.

The Trinity matters.
