The True and Living Way

I am the way, the truth, and the life:
no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.'
(Joh 14:6 )

Hello again,

There is a figure of speech found in the verse above, called hendiatris, or 'three for one': where there are three words used, but one thing meant; so that the verse should be understood to read, 'I am the way, yes- the true and living way; for no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.' Of course Christ is the 'truth,' as He is also the 'life': but this is not what is stated in this verse. Here, only one subject is in question: and that is 'The Way'; and the other two nouns are used to define it's true nature and character.

The reason the verse says "The life".. and connects it to The Truth and The Way, is because Jesus is all 3.

Jesus is the only WAY to the Father.
Jesus is THE Truth
Jesus is THE Eternal Life.

There are many Truths, but there is only one = THE Truth.
There are many paths to God, but there is only one WAY to the Father.
Everyone has life......but not everyone has Eternal Life, "in Christ".
