According to Isaiah, the woman is Mount "Zion" and the manchild is "her children."

Isaiah 66:
7Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child.

8Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.

9Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the LORD: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God.

10Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her:

11That ye may suck, and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; that ye may milk out, and be delighted with the abundance of her glory.

12For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees.

13As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.

Guy

You're still doing a bit of far reaching Guy, in trying to prove your theories about the Rev.12 events.

The man Child in Rev.12:5 is about Christ, pointing to the Seed of the Woman per Gen.3:15. For it is Christ that was born of the woman (Israel) Who also is to rule over all nations with a rod of iron, and was caught up to God's Throne at His Resurrection.

But the Isaiah 66 example is about the time of the gathering of the saints to Jerusalem, the believing Gentiles with believing Israel. We know that doesn't happen until Christ's return, which is still future.

Here's the event Isaiah 66 is speaking about involving birthing children...

Isa 49:18-22
18 Lift up thine eyes round about, and behold: all these gather themselves together, and come to thee. As I live, saith the LORD, thou shalt surely clothe thee with them all, as with an ornament, and bind them on thee, as a bride doeth.

Pick up the subject at Isa.49:14 of what Zion is saying that God had forsaken her. God is telling Zion her children are going to make haste, and return.

19 For thy waste and thy desolate places, and the land of thy destruction, shall even now be too narrow by reason of the inhabitants, and they that swallowed thee up shall be far away.

There will be so many, that the land will be "too narrow by reason of the inhabitants". But Zion's enemies will be cut off, and be far away.

20 The children which thou shalt have, after thou hast lost the other, shall say again in thine ears, "The place is too strait for me: give place to me that I may dwell."

These children which gather to Zion, after Zion has lost the other (rebellious of Israel), will be saying they need a place to dwell.

21 Then shalt thou say in thine heart, "Who hath begotten me these, seeing I have lost my children, and am desolate, a captive, and removing to and fro? and who hath brought up these? Behold, I was left alone; these, where had they been?"

Zion will then say, who has begotten me these new children? Who brought up these, and where had they been?

22 Thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I will lift up Mine hand to the Gentiles, and set up My standard to the people: and they shall bring thy sons in their arms, and thy daughters shall be carried upon their shoulders.
(KJV)

God then answers that He will lift up His hand to the Gentiles, and they shall bring the sons of Israel in their arms and upon their shoulders back to the holy land, to Zion. That's the joining of believing Gentiles with the saved remnant of Israel, both as one being gathered back to the holy land when Christ comes. In Isaiah 54, Zion is told the tent will be enlarged to include believing Gentiles.

That's the subject of the Isaiah 66 verses. That's a totally different subject than the "man Child" of Rev.12, Which is about Christ's Jesus being born through the Seed of the Woman (Israel).

That Psalms 78 example is about Israel's early history, not their latter history.

Ps 78:67-68
67 Moreover He refused the tabernacle of Joseph, and chose not the tribe of Ephraim:
68 But chose the tribe of Judah, the mount Zion which He loved.
(KJV)

God chose Mount Zion to dwell, and He set the tribe of Judah to dwell there and rule there (Isaiah 5; Gen.49:10). In Isaiah God refers to His people at Jerusalem as "daughters", and sometimes the men of Judah as women when they are rebellious and haughty in playing the spiritual harlot against Him.

In final, Mount Zion is where our Lord Jesus is going to gather us, His saints, if we stay on Him til His coming that is.
