We have often said the world is adverse to the sinner, and the world is adverse to a believer that does not know Christ is in them. Jesus said I have overcome the world and so can you. How do you overcome the world and not be swallowed up it? By Christ, the overcomer is in you and the world is not adverse to Christ because he said "I have overcome the world." So the change that comes is in men/women. Change does not have to come to the world, it does not need to change because if you change men that is the purpose of the world and everything that goes with it. So the world never changes, men are changed or should say exchanged and they need to see the world in its proper function. So if you are still in conflict with the world it is a schoolhouse for the training of son's.
When the world is nolonger adverse to a believer they have come to understand how the world works for their good. Long has religion taught just the opposite, they will tell you how awful the world is and if you don't stay away from it you may go to hell. Everything is judged based on the knowledge of good and evil, they cannot go any further than the old knowledge nor do they want to. Preaching against things as being bad (a sin) is the simplest and oldest method of control over another individual there is, and religion has it perfected. So if you wonder why you sleep through most of what is said by religion it is probably the tryptophan or whatever is in milk that makes you sleepy. The only sustenance in milk is for babes, a growing believer cannot live off milk.
That is where many in Christianity are, they are hungry and the scriptures say "you shall be fed." It comes in word form, it is new insight into what you have already known, it is the deep understanding of Christ in you. That is the only sustenance there is for a believer. The Lord giving you new and fresh understanding and moving you into Christ life understanding. Bless you.
