Philippians 3:
8 More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ,

9 and may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith,

10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death;

11 in order that I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

12 Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus.

13 Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead,

14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

15 Let us therefore, as many as are mature, have this attitude; and if in anything you have a different attitude, God will reveal that also to you;

There really is nothing in this world that can give one more peace of mind and comfort in the soul than Christ.
All the world has to offer is not compared to the wisdom and understanding and Love He gives you.
One must leave the world behind and move onward and upward always striving for the perfection He seeks in us.
We can do nothing of ourselves, we can't be more than we are without His help and His direction working through us.
The ultimate goal (in my opinion) and stated in scripture, is to be perfect as our father in heaven is perfect.
And if you find yourself straying from this goal, God will show you how to get back on the right path.

Paul was delivered from the righteousness of man's religion to the truth an d purity of God's faith of Jesus.

He ceased the learning of men corrupting Scripture, and searched the Scriptures only for himself.

He was a leader in the Jews' religion who became a leading Berean in Christ.

One thing to consider Matt is whom it is written to, and about whom it is speaking. Phil 1:1 That will greatly assist in the understanding and application of the passages.

What are your thoughts about the knowledge of Christ Jesus @Robert? Getting to know the Lord Jesus Christ? Is it a good thing or could it be dangerous? What contributed as everything as a loss Christ was far better to obtain and hold on to according to Paul.

My thought: “I agree.”
