1 Corinthians 1:21 (NASB20)
For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.

‘To save those who believe’

The believing of faith, we are saved by faith, meaning, that we are saved by believing something, by holding onto something as true… This something, is a truth put forth in scripture in many different words and phrases, but they all point to the same truth and that is, being joined with Christ in both His death and resurrection… This faith, this belief, this reckoning upon something to be true regardless of outward circumstances, is the holding unto the believer is called to, this believing into this something…..

Scripture says God chose to ‘save those who believe’, this believing, that one has died to the old and is alive to the new, is the coming out and then the going in of the children of Israel in the OT, this being in a figure, the coming out of the old life and going into the new life by faith, which faith will produce fruit appropriate to the strength of that believing, it, being the faith that overcomes if one will but maintain one’s believing…. The strength of this faith will be manifested by the Christ that is formed in one, for the forming of Christ in one is the proof that one belongs to Christ… For this believing in the face of all things contrary, is the faith that will overcome one’s own will, being that one thing that keeps Christ from being formed in one, to the manifesting of Christ living His life in and through….
