It is appalling to think that Churches in this area of Texas are not up in arms about the Occultic church that is about to open their doors.Tolerance is no excuse for being indifferent. I have always believed that Christian churches are beacons of light in our communities but what if those churches are not shining their light?

Do you think that a Church of Lucifer will open it's door in an area where the power of God is present? I do not think so...JM2C

It's weird, I'll admit, but what exactly do you want or expect the Christian churches in the area to do?

Why would you ask such a question? They could be co-ordinating combined church meetings to discuss the implications of having such an organization in town and how it will affect the community in general. They could instigate combined prayer action. They could lobby their local representative whoever that may be. There are so many things people can do. I'm just amazed that nothing has been done or perhaps it's just not news worthy. IDK

I read about the statues... but not an actual Church [building] deliberately/officially placed in a community... There was a complaint recently in small town NZ about a crematorium being built right in the CBD and a block back from the main center.
People were up in arms about that because they just didn't want to be eating or drinking their latte with the smell of cremated bones wafting down the street.

Same thing happened when a prostitution agency arrived in another small town. People didn't like it, not only Christians but non believers as well and they did something about it. Why ain't people doing something about it???

Because I think it's important. Like I said, while this is weird, it is legal.

They could be co-ordinating combined church meetings to discuss the implications of having such an organization in town and how it will affect the community in general. They could instigate combined prayer action.
Ok. Sounds good.

They could lobby their local representative whoever that may be.
Lobby the rep to do what?

The problem is, the "Church of Lucifer" isn't doing anything illegal, so there's not really much that can actually be done to stop them from opening. Freedom to practice one's religion isn't a right solely for Christians.
