The husband and wife were canoeing in a shallow creek. They went over the back of an alligator and it reacted. Both alligators were about eleven feet long!

I've never heard of an 11-foot alligator, much less, two alligators that long, in 2 feet of water. They said alligator attacks were rare, but it seems those alligators were looking for food in shallow water close to shore.
They said it was two and a half feet of water. One news report called it a creek, another one was reporting it from a lake.
The husband and wife apparently did adventurous things and would post about it. I watched another video with the sheriffs telling more.

I've been to alligator farms. It makes more sense if it was a lake. The big gators will take you down to the bottom of a lake and carry you off. Still sad though, you never know when an adventure turns deadly.
Both alligators will be examined for proof that it had killed and partially eaten the women.
That mean cutting open it's stomach, I suppose.
They grab an arm, hand leg and start rolling, twisting off parts of your body. And it happens as a quick dismembering.

I lived in South Florida for 40 years. I had a job as a pool man back in the 80s. I serviced pools in gated communities that had interconnecting canals. I once saw a 15 footer just right out on some guys lawn sunbathing. It looked like a dinosaur.

"There's my big boy"! Please, they are not domestic animals, not pets. We are supposed to subdue animals, keep their populations down to keep us out of danger. We should be able to swim and boat freely anywhere without threat. This animal activist/ rights theme has granted southern states as gator territory. Sorry, it is our planet. To me, it is the same as killing any bugs that enter my house. It's my territory. Now they have anaconda there too.
Okay alligators may be crucial ecosystem engineers ... but we they don't need millions..Actually I didn't move to Florida for that reason and I wanted a dog that I go swimming with. EPA needs an overhaul with all their obscure regulations.
If I did go canoeing in Florida or Louisianna or any other state that has posted alligator warning signs, I'd have a gun or at least a big knife. A women saved her small dog from a alligator attack..It was only 6 feet. Still she jumped on it's back, bunched his nose and it freaked out and left. I guess with a big one, all you can do is go for their eyes. You gouge or stab their eyes and that is painful for them, they will flee - only if they haven't ripped your arm off that's holding the weapon yet. And that tail can break your legs and disable you fast. No one should have to worry about this. This is our planet and we need to subdue them.
You know what is about as scary, Huge giant alligator snapping turtles, wow, I saw one climb out of a swamp on a road, and it is big heavy powerful creature, and fast bite like lightning. And they ambush you in the water. The water is not safe in the south.
