The witnesses are a story of God giving witness to a nation that desired him not, and held others that needed and even desired the witness of Christ. Some find out they desire Christ after taking a step of hope or faith into the waters of Christian baptism.
They killed Christ and tried to silence the happy loving message of God who healed many. Christ was not pleased with those in authority. They were controlling and dangerous and in that way held captives and slaves. In effect made choices for the people under Nero, Caesar and Herod. Many did not desire their occupation and many were afraid or wise and did not speak up while terrorist displays were happening of Crucifixions. God desires us to freely choose his way thru Christ. He frees us from chains of hell and death eventually. He knows how people are affected and even effected by unseen forces like controlling spirits that weaken the nations as lucifer did.
Some don't know a different life and live what appears to us Christians as miserable or sorrowful. We desire to help. They must be allowed to be freed and choose for themselves. Christ is doing that.
Some only find out they love God and the happiness he brings after trying his ways even when it doesn't make sense to them.
Victims may eventually look back and be happy God took them in years after or months after trying a new way of Christian life. Some desire it already but are held captive by someone or something.
We must believe in God and that he can heal us of our problems, addictions and terrible relationships.
There is another story of those held alive past the point of Sodom and Gomorrah death from God's destroyer. They are the vicimizers. They somehow get away with victimizing beyond that point. They are the reason God creates plagues of the worst kind. That is because he desires authorities to apprehend and suppress their continued victimizing of others for their own safety. They are little child victimizers spoken of thru God's holy witness throughout the ages.
Matthew 5
20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
21 Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
25 Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
26 Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.
They somehow are building up more spirit prison sentence time and hellfire. God does not desire that I believe.
They are endangered souls, not the victims. God has great concern for them. That is the reason for such destructions. Christ knows judgment wisdom and his father also.
That is the good and evil story of signs of Sodom and Egypt.
God desires all to be freed of that great dark spiritual city. We sing the song of Moses. And God's angels desired salvation for their lineage left on earth. And God the father provided much pain and suffering together with his son Jesus the Christ for that.
