intended This Wonderful Book to be beyond the comprehension of
the average believer. We know this from two passages of Scripture.
II Timothy 3:16-17 tells us that
What kind of believer is going to find God’s Word understandable
enough to benefit from it in this way? I Corinthians 1:26-27 says,
This passage reveals that the Savior did NOT intend His Word for only
the super-intellectual or those with extensive seminary training. On
the contrary, the Bible is intended to benefit you and me, the ordinary
“man [or woman] of God” who has a genuine desire to learn from the
Holy Book He gave us.
If you know the LORD Jesus Christ as your Savior and the Bible seems
confusing, don’t get discouraged. It takes time to build a working
knowledge of the Scriptures.
Isaiah informs us that as “He [the LORD] teaches knowledge” it must
be done slowly:
As we are patient and diligent about learning God’s Word,
The LORD Will reward us with a growing understanding...
"
