The bible speaks of virtue (arete) as manly courage. The Greeks of the 1st century would have known what Peter (2 Peter 1) and Paul meant by having virtue. There were many statues dedicated to arete. The 300 Spartans who made a stand at Thermopylae were exemplars of this martial courage.

In practical terms virtue means to not be afraid or back down when attacked by evil-doers. God wants us to be able to stand against the wiles of the devil and the intimidation of the outer man in others. Without that kind of courage, there is no witness possible for Christ. So then we add to our faith the courage to stand by faith...or else anything else we bring to the table has no value.

Courage is one of the manly human virtues

I was referring to the supernatural virtues, helps from God!

Yes helps to resist sun and temptations

James 4:7
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Hebrews 12:4
Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

Same reply, no. But we can pray for and work hard to live the fruitages of the spirit, within our imperfect state however.
