I know that most believers should know this, but when was the last time this warning has been given out in the churches for believers to be reminded of since the media floods our view with fornication as being the norm in society?What did Paul wrote when a church was ignoring fornication within? :study:1 Corinthians 6: 8Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren. 9Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 11And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. 12All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. 13Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body. 14And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power. 15Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. 16What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. 17But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. 18Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. 19What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. So what about a believer living with another believer of the opposite sex? How is that abstaining from all appearances of evil? Are we not called out of the world to be a light to the world? How can the world see that light if we run like the world? How did Paul address what a church should do when a brother is caught in a trespass?1 Corinthians 5: 1It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife. 2And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you. 3For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,4In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, 5To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
6Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? 7Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: 8Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. 9I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators: 10Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world. 11But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. 12For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? 13But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.For those believers that are living in sin and the church does not know it, the Bible says, God knows. Christianity is not a religion of outward appearances but a relationship with God made possible by Jesus Christ, and it is through Jesus Christ we have a relationship with God through His Son Whom is with us always for we have been bought with a price. And if you are bought with a price, so is the one you are having sexual relations wiith before getting married. If you love that person, why tempt that person to sin? It isn't just your inner sruggles and desires and you sinning against God, but you are causing someone esle to sin against God with you. Here are Paul's instructions for those believers to avoid fornication.1 Corinthians 7: 1Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman. 2Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband....6But I speak this by permission, and not of commandment. 7For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that. 8I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, it is good for them if they abide even as I. 9But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn. So we are called out of the world not to live as the world live, so that our light may shine forth of the hope we have in Christ Jesus. So abstain from all appearances of evil and do not live together until you are married. This avoids the temptation of fornication in close quarters. Double-dating is a fun way to avoid some of the peer pressures of having sex on a date. Trust the Lord to be Your Good Shepherd in leading you away from temptations by providing an escape so that you may bear it. But make no mistake, fornicators shall not inherit the Kingdom of God so do not defraud yourself nor another believer of it. It is that serious for you do not know when the Lord shall appear... so be ready at all times. Don't be caught with your pants down.
May the believers as well as the churches remind each other the consequences of committing fornication so that the world glorifying it as a desireable practise in society will lose its appeal.
