Warnings Against Fornication

I know that most believers should know this, but when was the last time this warning has been given out in the churches for believers to be reminded of since the media floods our view with fornication as being the norm in society?What did Paul wrote when a church was ignoring fornication within? :study:1 Corinthians 6: 8Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren. 9Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 11And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. 12All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. 13Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. How can the world see that light if we run like the world? How did Paul address what a church should do when a brother is caught in a trespass?1 Corinthians 5: 1It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife. 2And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you. 3For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,4In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, 5To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. 6Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? 7Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.For those believers that are living in sin and the church does not know it, the Bible says, God knows. Christianity is not a religion of outward appearances but a relationship with God made possible by Jesus Christ, and it is through Jesus Christ we have a relationship with God through His Son Whom is with us always for we have been bought with a price. And if you are bought with a price, so is the one you are having sexual relations wiith before getting married. If you love that person, why tempt that person to sin? It isn't just your inner sruggles and desires and you sinning against God, but you are causing someone esle to sin against God with you. Here are Paul's instructions for those believers to avoid fornication.1 Corinthians 7: 1Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman. 2Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband....6But I speak this by permission, and not of commandment. 7For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that. 8I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, it is good for them if they abide even as I. 9But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn. So we are called out of the world not to live as the world live, so that our light may shine forth of the hope we have in Christ Jesus. So abstain from all appearances of evil and do not live together until you are married. This avoids the temptation of fornication in close quarters. Double-dating is a fun way to avoid some of the peer pressures of having sex on a date. Trust the Lord to be Your Good Shepherd in leading you away from temptations by providing an escape so that you may bear it. But make no mistake, fornicators shall not inherit the Kingdom of God so do not defraud yourself nor another believer of it. It is that serious for you do not know when the Lord shall appear... so be ready at all times. Don't be caught with your pants down. May the believers as well as the churches remind each other the consequences of committing fornication so that the world glorifying it as a desireable practise in society will lose its appeal.

Speaking as a man of previous sexual sin, I myself have lived in fornication and constant impurity. I cannot stand the man I once was and thank you for reminding us all how pure God intended us to be. Matthew 27-30 shows exactly where this culture has gone blind. I hope I am not the only one that lives by these passages.

So is sex really a beautiful thing or just simply a self serving the hormonal overdrive thing? Seems pretty arbitrary to describe an act as ugly UNLESS a Priest said some words to the couple before they did the act. Whether a loving couple is married or not doesn't change the sex act in itself and does not change the aesthetics of the act.

Married people abandone and/or abuse their children too.

I'm pretty much pro-choice [I'm pretty iffy on third trimester ones tho]. But this is a whole nother issue for a whole nother thread. But on a quick side note, if anyone is against abortion cause they think that the fetus can feel the "mangling" of its body, then circumcision should also be a definite no-no.

And finally this address my main point here, that all these problems of fornication that you listed are all easily solved with SAFE, PROTECTED sex and contraception. Yea it might be true that there would be little to no sexual diseases if no one had sex before or outside of marriage. But I could also say, there would be little to no sexual diseases if everyone just used protection and contraception. Sex in itself is not bad or evil. Sex done without protection is just irresponsible and stupid. Promising to be monogamous to someone and then cheating on them is wrong since you're breaking a promise and betraying someone's trust. But its the betrayal of trust thats ugly and wrong and not the act of sex itself.
And what happens when someone says no to sex? Then they get mad as if you are rejecting them BUT if you say yes to sex, then they say... it doesn't really mean anything. So is sex really a beautiful thing or just simply a self serving the hormonal overdrive thing? It's only beautiful when it is over?
Are you kidding me? Whenever a good looking girl says yes to me for sex, its such an incredible, life-affirming feeling. Its definitely not meaningless. And not all things that happen to be pleasurable are "self-serving". It takes atleast 2 people to have sex so its obviously not only about the self. And no, sex is not only beautiful when its over. Sex is so beautiful that when you're doing it, you wish that it'd never end. But good things usually dont last forever.

Hi crooner,That is true as Paul instructs the unmarried and the young widows that cannot contain to get married.For myself, not watching television and going to movies helps to keep out of sight.. out of mind; thus not wishing nor fantasizing or being made sad because I've been made aware that I am alone. Jesus is with me always as He is My Friend to help me live as His Friend.Some people do not have a choice but to remain unmarried. They can still have friends and fellowship and even do charitable good works in helping one another by the grace of God. But the Lord shall lead that person to doing something about it by providing opportunities for that person to date or meet someone that will either be the soul mate or "ka-pow" all desires to seek a soul mate... at least for awhile anyway... from what I have seen in my travels of people's testimonies across the internet.I cannot advise anyone to stay single as I wished I was with someone, but the Lord is with me as I must endure the trials of my life which are entirely different from the trials of anyone else's. Of course, my wishing and this constant alienation by the people around me does have me accepting and rather preferring that I not seek someone now.Rather, I'd wish the Lord would take me Home now. Doesn't bother me a bit if I never get married.

Many people think God means freedom and in this so called freedom they consent to many sins as not being that. You have to understand that if you decide to inherit your Father's testament you HAVE to obey the restrictions and orders the Testator left for everyone to follow, exactly as they are written. Bilbe is a law, law of life. When one is charged with a felony, he can't possibly even think of standing up to the court's President and say "Mr. President you may say this law condemns me, but I think we can see it from another perspective. All sins can be forgiven by God. He chastise us with the Word of God. David did repent for his sins. Did you know that Yahshua is the root and offspring of David? Yes, but as in all consequences for sinning, punishment is dished out.Did not King David lose a son by Bathsheba? Like a father to his children, so does God chastens those He loves. So for all reading this, do not use God's grace to sin. He forbids that. He calls us to trust Him to help us live as His so as to not live in sin nor have sin have dominion over us.So yes.. the relationship is a good point, but still God chastens so as to maintian that relationship in good standing.
