So we want to keep wages low? And that's gonna help people how?
All the wall street salaries and top executives, we can keep those salaries sky high right?
Well amend the constitution to allow the federal govt to force wages to rise. Other wise they do not have the authority. States do however.
If you want to talk about the fat cats- that is a different issue. They are not constrained by a minimum wage we are addressing here.
I agree on the Obama care. Not the promise he made to the people when he was campaigning. Very shady.
I would settle health care reform. If we went to the social medical system like europe their would be a war. There is way to much money tied up in the US medical industry, they would never give that up
And that because of governmental red tape that drives costs through the roof. Take a prescription drug for example, before they even get to sell a pill, the company spent anywhere from $600,000,000 to $1,500,000,000 in research, development, testing, retesting and retesting again to meet government demands. That also doesn't include the costs associated with the drugs they abandon for they find they will not work. They ony have 17 years under drug patents to recoup the cost and make a profit. On the high end, that drug company has to recoup $80,000,000 a year just to recoup the costs before they incurred the additional costs of manufacturin, delivering and court costs from people suing them.
This one I could not disagree with more, years ago we taxed the corporations, they paid their fair share it it worked just fine. Tried and proven. Don't let fox news pull a fast one on you.
Then you do not know the difference between marginal tax rates and actual tax rates. Taxes are a cost of doing business like labor and land and buildings and machines and all those cost are passed on to the consumer. more TAXES= higher cost we pay. Been true all the time. Remember corporations get their money to pay taxes from the goods or services they sell to us. They don't have a hole they go to and pull money out of.
This is same as last answer. And to add, for the last 40 plus years we been giving more and more to these guys, what's the result, more poverty than ever. Places like Detroit look like a third world war zone.
The last year AVAILABLE (2018) shows the wealthiest 10% paid 80% of all federal income taxes collected. The bottom 47% paid 0% net in federal income taxes, and the bottom 25% received more back in subsidies than they paid. IOW they got back 100% of the fed taxes paid and then even more. thqat means the middle 43% paid 20% in federal income taxes collected.
The wealthier pay more in capital gains, property and local taxes. This year govt. in the US at all levels will collect over $6,500,000,000,000 in tax revenue or approx. $18,000 per individual in america. How close do you come to that figure

And Detroit has been a democrat mecca for decades, along with chicago, California, NYC, and Conn.
You need to learn the responsibilities according to the constitution that belong to states, cities and towns and those that belong to the fed. We have said nothing as teh federal government has grown way past what the constitution allows it, and the results is greater poverty. It is the cities and states that have the greatest responsibility in our constitutional republic.
