Safe at home,great! "Suffer with joy!" An oxymoron of course. Yet,safe. And self righteous.

Christian's joy is based on Jesus' promises.

Most would agree that Jesus is unmovable. He doesn't change due to circumstances. And if we are in Him and He in us then we aren't to change either. Your position in Christ hasn't changed. Your circumstances are just making you feel like it has. Jas 1:3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience....

I used to see the command to "rejoice in suffering" as unrealistic and a burden. Now I see it as a gift that comes from continuing in the Word and obeying Christ's commands. When we suffer for Christ, w3le get to share in His glory. It refines our motives and it's the secret sauce of becoming like Him. It confirms that were with Jesus and not of this world.
