unselfish love is serving and porviding needed care for your neighbor.
Unselfish love is when you put another's well being before your own...
But my question was how many times did you see Jesus, who is our example, handing out physical needs to people?
We must be kind to everyone who is put in our path rather good or bad, for if we do as they do, we are the same as they are... but we are not told to provide the needs of the ungodly to support their nasty habits that they need delivered from. In fact Jesus let them provide the meals when he ate with them for a worker is worthy of his wages. We work for God and the hearer of the Word should consider the Bread of life that we feed for their souls good as worth more than physical bread that is eaten and more is need in a while. But the Bread of life sustains us for life as it teaches us how to be honorable to God from whom all Blessings flow. He does not hand you things.. He gives you favor to receive things from others such as promotions, houses you did not build, wells you did not dig, vineyards you did not plant etc....
What is our commission as a soldier and ambassadore of Christ? Isn't it to Take the Good News of God's kingdom being available to all who are sick of living a life of misery due to SIN in their lives being held captive to the devils will, to Serve the Word? Meaning to serve Christ The Word faithfully and serve(feed) the Word to those who are lost so that they can live a better way of life by looking to God for their health, protection and provisions being Blessed? We are the Blessed seed of Abraham in Christ Jesus. How blessed is it if you don't have any food, shelter, clothes or to have to go into debt to pay for your needs? Does God want His people to live in poverty, to beg borrow and steal so that they are in Bondage to Sin for them? NO! He wants His children to come to Him out of a pure heart, not a bought one so that He can heal, protect and provide for HIS FAMILY.
Never do you see Jesus nor the disciples supporting those who reject Christ/The Word with physical needs. The 5,000 fed were those who first humbled themselves to the Word and sat at his feet and ate a spiritual meal first, then on Jesus' command gave an offering of Thanksgiving from all they had to the man of God who lifted it up to the Father to be blessed and mulitiplied to meet their need and left overs to spare.
We are to help a
believing brother who is in need. In fact we are supposed to be selling extra lands or properties and laying the funds at the feet of the man of God so that all of our BRETHREN/Believers are well taken care of to the Glory of God. For if we do not help them, they may fall away and return to Egypt where things Seemed Better because they could lie, cheat, beg and steal for their needs which is called Filthy lucre because it is ill gotten gains.
God's provisons are for rewards for our faithfulness to the Son then we return a portion back to God to show our graditude and acknowledgement of who we serve and who gave us the provisions or victory. God's love is to abide in His Word and to bless other's with the Word of God for you can not come to the Father, unless you accept The Son.
Satan's way is to pay up front to get our needs met.... payment can be filthy lucre such as bribes or sin.
John 13:34-35
34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
KJV
John 15:12-19
12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.
18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
