This is the verse that came to me reading this:
Matthew 6:6 (KJV) But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

Thank you for posting.

It Is not clear what sort of prayer(s) the pastor is asking for. It would be appropriate to pray that the Holy Spirit might help us persuade terrorists to turn to God, etc.

Pardon my cynicism, but a link to a site that lists terrorists to adopt sounds like an invitation to exploit the naive.

As for “increase your tithing,” if one is already giving 10%, then that request does not make sense. Perhaps the pastor meant, “our staff are having trouble making ends meet on their current salaries, so can you give more.” My answer would depend on how well the church seems to be managing its resources.

Blessings.

Thanks, I think you right so I should edit as it was meant to increase giving or also to the ones not tithing to start. I do not belong to that church but was asked my opinion from a friend. I would like to see how others view these things.

Is your spirit bothered? Do you feel this is appropriate?

Can you imagine working at a marketing firm that gets hired by this organization to come up with advertising to help them get more exposure in the public marketing place?

The boss at the morning meeting says "OK so who has any ideas on how to create a commercial for the Adopt a Terrorist Campaign"?

Employee #1: "We could say terrorists are OK, adopt one today"

Employee #2: "What about terrorists can be good, invite one to your hood - for the inner city commercials of course"

Maybe their church needs to learn from the mormans and go out and start a business owned and run by the church.

They could sell breakfast tacos from a taco truck at different businesses around town and construction sites

It could all be tax free. Maybe start a resale shop. Don't recommend starting a massage parlor as that would be awkward

I think that he should be encouraging his church to pray for the persecuted church h as well as for those who persecute them and terrorists.

As for a pay rise that should be dealt with by the church elders and the financial implications discussed in the churches annual general meeting when the church accounts and budgets are discussed and voted on.
If your church doe7 do this ask why, ask will they do it around next April, if the answer is no, leave giving the reason the lack of financial accountability.

That's why the door is at the back of the church.

I'd get up and leave as soon as he finished that statement.
Life is too precious to waste paying attention to Satanists seeking attention while wearing lambs wool.
