I actually asked another Christian community online about this and they said it's up to my conscience, this isn't about if the game is sinful or whatever. I just want your opinion on this type of thing. So I may have talked about Shin Megami Tensei here before, a game where you basically recruit(or fuse them together to create stronger ones)various figures from mythology and even some modern religions like Hinduism, Buddhism and even the Abrahamic ones, to fight alongside you. It's kinda like Pokémon or other monster collecting games in that regard though your protagonist also fights and you can have multiple out at once. Persona is a spinoff of this series and is based more off a type of psychology for it's world building, the Persona's have the same design as SMT characters but are used more like a Stand from Jojo if you will.
I actually quit the series for a while because it calls the characters "demons", but it turns out it means the Greek word "daemon", being a generic term for a supernatural being of any type(still could of just gone with "spirit" imo if that's the case but whatever).I'm playing the newest SMT that released a couple weeks back and am trying to level up my Angel from the start of the game to be viable for endgame, even giving a bunch of Stat boosters and teaching him endgame abilities to keep him viable, and am planning to bring him into the final boss fights of the main story as well as Shiva, the ultimate boss of the original release of this game who I never was able to beat then.
How do you feel about this? I understand this isn't everyone's thing but I for one really like the idea as a fan of mythology and figures from myth being used in games, which has led this to be one of my all time favorite series as despite throwing so much in a blender they still find room to make a lot of the portrayal accurate. If anything the worst part of this is the mature themes at times and some religiously controversial stuff being included as daemons, Canannite gods being one example, though there are characters I refuse to use of course for conscience reasons.
