I saw this interesting Venn diagram that gave a good picture of where our world view comes from.

- Do you agree?
- Are there other models to consider?
- Should these three be in balance? (as shown)
- What happens if they are out of balance?

I do not agree with the diagram. Science is the study of the natural world using evidence-based processes: making observations, asking questions, forming testable hypotheses, conducting experiments, analyzing data, and formulating conclusions, while minimizing bias and allowing for reproducibility.

Religion is a set of beliefs and practices pertaining to life and spirituality revealed through people, but cannot be verified through any kind of scientific or necessarily rational method.

Philosophy literally means love of wisdom. It systematically questions concepts of existence, knowledge, the mind, reason and values, and many other things. Rather than revelation or empirical evidence, it uses rational arguments to explore and define various subjects.
exactly . let no man be taken in by the philosphy of men either .
FAITH in Christ saves . trust in his words and not in men who have to make things make sense .
For the carnal mind cannot recieve the things of God .

Why can't a world view live at the intersection of these three?
How would you draw the diagram?

Welcome to the forum.

Your touching on a favorite topic of mine. I actually usually like to talk about Naive Realism on this sort of thing. An Old Blog like thing posted on my Facebook wall.

"The lesson of today is Naive Realism. This is a really important topic and if often is at work when you feel like you are talking past a person in some kind of argument. But more exactly, Naive Realism is the belief that some people have, that they see "reality" perfectly clearly. Such people do not want to achnowedge that their perceptions are shaped from their past experiences, their beliefs, their culture and so on. We all however see and interpret through filters or to put it Biblically “We see through a glass darkly” (1 Cor 13:12).

There is however a phenomenon where people are so use to or oblivious to their own environment or milieu that it never quite registers in their brain. It is like the fish swimming in water without realizing it. That fish eventually encounters this other explorer fish that has these stories of encountering this strange realm of air and it asks "What is all these crazy stories of air and water!, We're fish we just float and swim, their is no water!" Someday however that fish might learn the hard way!

What would your Venn diagram look like then?
Or how would that alter the one presented in the OP?

Or would it alter how it is is seen or used?
Please elaborate if you care to. Thanks.

A very basic simplistic teaching tool…That meshes and divides…all dependent on consideration of what individuals from all age groups believe at any given time in their own life span.
