I do believe that God knows we love our children and if we do not let them distract us from His work of taking the Word of the kingdom to the poor without God in this world.. that He will do what ever He can to bring them to repentance for our sakes if at all possible. I lift my children up to Him trusting that God will always work what is best for those who's heart is towards Him.
This is part of what the parable of the Seed is talking about, that the cares of this life either distract us from the Word growing in us because we put it lastly in our life instead of FIRST PLACE. We try to fix people in our own efforts and don't come to rest in God for our children casting all our cares upon Him. Job did not try to teach his children to fear God, he just tried to give God physical things such as animal sacrifices to LOOK THE OTHER WAY, and lived in fear that his children may have offended God and that God would be angry.
God says when you allow fear to enter you then the thing you fear, shall come upon you. Job may have been righteous because He believed and feared God, but when we walk in fear then it is our conscience telling us something that needs to be addressed. To walk in faithfulness means to know that there IS a God to be feared for those of disobedience and show love to our children by filling our children's eyes and ears with good seed of God's Word which is the Love of God that keeps us safe, healthy, prosperous and in peace. The Christ is the Rod in God's Hand that tries to first gently nudge us back in line with the Word, but the physical rod by man's hands is the second stage if we don't obey the Voice of God.
We could not, in our fallen flesh be capable of walking perfect, that is why Jesus had to come and die as a holy sacrifice acceptable to God, so that we could be made in right standing with God and again able to receive His Word that saves us which can only be by receiving His Spirit who guides us into all truth.
But the seed that lands in good soil (dust/clay vessels being our bodies) starts to grow and produce a harvest of souls as some of the seeds drop out of our mouths and into the soil of another to the saving of their soul. Never resort to natural trinkets to change a man's heart towards God. Only the Word can produce good fruit for the kingdom, not wealth.
Wealth can only bring physical comforts, never does it take the place of a good upbringing by the Father who lavishes physical comforts in life for those who Love the Son.
Luke 8:4-15
4 And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable:
5 A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.
6 And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.
7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.
8 And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
9 And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be?
10 And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.
11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.
13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.
14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.
15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

God is about quality, not quantity. Which would you rather have a house full of unruly children or two good ones?
