You may be surprised to know that the ransom was not to Satan to let the captives to sin be set free. The offering was unto God so that we could come out of the bondage of sinful behavior that comes from being separated or dead to God's Spirit because our spirit man becomes corrupted and unclean when we do not have the Word aka Christ and the Holy Ghost covering us up to keep us from being exposed to sinful teachings. We become NAKED AND ASHAMED of our lewd deeds that keep us bondage to a hellish life in the dust or lower parts of the earth as in POVERTY STRICKEN, DIS-EASED, BROKEN HOMES ETC... because we disobey the Voice.. Word... of the LORD our God.
He wants to RAISE US UP from the dead to life being made whole in His integrity, godly character, righteousness, in TRUE LOVE which is Jesus, which is THE WORD who became flesh to not only die so that we could be resurrected from a life that only kills being death, hell and the grave, to be made ALIVE(Spiritually) through the CROSS(OVER) from DEATH UNTO A GOODLY LIFE,but was also our example in bodily form for us to see in action while he was yet with us, but now we know him no more in the flesh, nor do we have a likeness of him to make idolatrous images calling them God to worship, for we do not know what Jesus looked like nor is God Almighty human. God is Spirit! The Father did not become flesh... The Word of God lowered himself to become flesh, to die for us. God allowed His Word to die on the cross of the old fleshly law/covenant that was killing us because without the Spirit of God, we are not able to hear the Word or receive him. The Word/Son/Jesus was being forsaken by the will of God to give us a new covenant WORD who is Christ raised up on the 3rd day. To just look at the law kills, but the Spirit teaches us how to obey the Voice of God.
Eph 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
KJV
Heb 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
KJV
