Hello Jim,

Thank you for commenting.

What are your thoughts on sharing scripture with others from time to time? Do you believe it can be useful on edifying and strengthening faith?

You made a good point to point out the word ‘effort’, as it the action of putting something forth, right?

Why always be humble and gentle?

The opposite might look like this: But if you bite and devour one another, take care that you are not consumed by one another. (Galatians 5:15)

In his letters, Paul (as does Jesus; see John 13:34-35) exhorts his flocks to love one another. This is what it will take for the Church (big "C") to survive and accomplish our mission. The quoted verses? This is what love looks like.

They are fruitages of God's spirit Matt, although synonyms are used where they are itemized in Galatians 5. It is not always easy to display the fruitages of the spirit, but we should do our utmost to do so, as it is fruits that identify us as true followers of Jesus, correct?

Of course I believe on sharing scripture with others but I believe that it is more important to show Christ within us by acting as He did: loving most of the time but also being critical when necessary with the goal, in all cases, to lead people to Christ.

A gentle word can be a sword. A humble spirit can be a shield.
