How on earth do you get your conclusion from that article?

From this article at Newsday we see the real reason for the concern. Not because of Microsoft making a bad product but because MS is releasing it before the vendors have debugged drivers. That's on the vendors, not MS.

IMO (and I have experience to back it up), anything Microsoft is a big flop. As long as they get these viruses (unlike Linux) people are going to be dishing out megabucks to constantly fix their computers or buy new ones constantly. If I had a daughtger, I would not get her a Microsoft phone for fear that if she was stranded somewhere she'd get a foreign porno site from a virus rather than contacting her father for help. As for these Microsoft i-pad equivalents, I predict that they, too, will be riddled with viruses since it really seems to be a scaled-down laptop to me.

Think of it like a game in any sport. You get injured, you're outta the game. Viruses render a computer useless, hence, outta the game. Can't play, then kicked off the team. Only manly, durable computers are worth it here.
