William F. Buckley Jr., founder of the influential National Review, died overnight in his study in Stamford, Conn., his publication reported."After years of illness, he died while at work; if he had been given a choice on how to depart this world, I suspect that would have been exactly it. At home, still devoted to the war of ideas," said National Review Editor Kathryn Jean Lopez.More to come ...
He actually spent some time in Camden, where I am from. My father ran into him in Walmart of all places one time.

William Buckley is someone I grew up with so-to-speak. His face would be all over the place. Funny thing is that I never imagined him "getting older", as I always remember his pictures looking young (even in this article). 82 already. Where does the time go?

He was a very bright and clear thinking man. He could turn a clever phrase better than anybody. He will be missed by conservatives and liberals alike. He had universal respect among friends and adversaries. He wasn't someone to mince words and you had best know your stuff if you were debating him. I am sorry to hear of his passing.
