That is your word, not mine. The human likeness IS supported by all the depictions in the Bible. God created man in His image, tripartite. It doesn't mean physical ONLY. Yes Jesus already existed, so part of our image is as a physical being. However they all exist in a meta-physical or spiritual realm so they have to be transformed into human or solid beings to be seen. That for God is NOT a problem, just as we will be changed in the twinkling of an eye, when Jesus returns.
That metaphysical transformation idea for angels to appear on earth is not supported anywhere in God's Word.
Likewise, with our Lord Jesus after... His resurrection, He required NO metaphysical transformation to appear on earth to His disciples for 40 days after His crucifixion.
The assumption that the angels must metamorph to appear on earth is a tool used by those against the prophecy of Satan coming as the final antichrist, to this earth. They use it to declare the "many antichrists" idea as applied to flesh men, disregarding John's mention that they had heard a singular 'antichrist' was to come. It's a denial to get away from what God's Word shows about Satan being the one coming. God's Word is specific that the coming false one will be Satan himself, defacto walking on this earth and doing miracles to deceive...
Rev 12:9-12
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
