You want to avoid the lake of fire?
Do not worship the beast who is the enemy of God.
Do not take the mark of the beast which identifies you as aligned with the beast, the enemy of God.
“Worships and receives” sounds like when you worship the beast, the mark is put on you right then.
All your family and friends will not be safe from execution no matter what you do.

Taking the mark is an act of worshiping the beast.
Just like taking communion is an act of worshipping Jesus.

No. One is religious worship while the other is economic...buying and selling. Most will worship and take the mark but maybe some will the one and not the other. All I know is refusing the mark is not said to be a death sentence but failure to worship the image is.
