Me too, but I also liked the "Cast thy fried eggs (sunny side up) upon the water" picture in ln light of the Ecclesiastes 11:1 quotation.

It's after 2am here and I couldn't get to sleep despite having a glass of milk and a couple of shortbread biscuits.
Lately all I do is sleep. I don't know if it's because it's winter. I'm just tired all the time.
My mother in law used to tell me to eat a little peanutbutter to help with sleep.
I never tried it, but I remember her saying it.
Most nights I listen to this..
I pick a book and let it run through the cycle.
It plays all 66 books of the bible. You can begin at Genesis or click on any book.
I usually start with the book of Psalms and just let it run.

I wonder if it would work on my Kindle tablet. I think I'll give it a try tomorrow.
I started one I can't into but am reluctant to give up on it just yet. Normally I can lose track of time with a book in my hands. These wake ful nights are less often than they used to be but I hate to just lie there and wait.
Sleepless Night
Alone I sit
In the early hours of another day
Sleep’s elusive kiss
Has not yet touched my eyes
Though heavy lidded
And with shoulders drooped
Still I wait
For slumber to beckon me away.
The beautiful landscape
Of dreams I long to see.
But yet,
Untouched by sweet sleep’s gentle hand,
I wait, and let my thoughts
flow freely
Until I drift, asleep at last,
Upon the night’s great sea.

I wrote this poem at 4am on 04.11.78 So you can see it's not a new thing.
Oh it can farouk specially if you're near the end and can't wait to reach the conclusion.@Pearl Sometimes reading a book last thing at night can be really absorbing, right?

@Pearl I know the feeling; sometimes hours can go by with a book....
