Do you call yourself a Christian believer? If your response is "Yes" then you have a greater responsibility to fulfill. Johnny Cash was right when he said Christianity is not for sissies but people who have the zeal to hold onto the faith to the end.

Today, I would like to remind you that, being a Christian in this hectic world would cost you a whole lot. Despite all the pains and sufferings, there is a greater reward for you here on earth and even in the afterlife.

There is nothing beautiful and adorable than walking in the footsteps of Christ Jesus. I mean you become exceptional in so many ways when you become "Christ-like." But unfortunately, some believers fail to hold onto the faith to the end. Having the smallest faith like a mustard seed can even help you to move mountains.

In this post, you will find out how to live a good Christian life and some of the rewards God has promised to give. If you call yourself a Christian then bear in mind that you have a greater responsibility of radiating the light of Jesus throughout your life and wherever you find yourself.

Never think of living a life free of afflictions or challenges. Christianity is not for the coward or the lazy (2 Timothy 1:7). You must be strong to defend the faith and the true gospel of Christ Jesus. And by doing so — you will encounter many challenges. People will hate you, scold you and even threaten to kill you. After all, persecution isn't anything new in the history of Christianity. Many have chosen to die by refusing to deny our Lord Christ Jesus. Can you do the same? Think about it.

If you are ready to live as a true child of God, then carry your cross and follow Jesus Christ. We are not Christians by mere mouths —but by the identification of our deeds. The fruits of the Spirit must be seen in everything you do. The Bible says:

"Every tree that does not grow good fruit is cut down, and thrown into the fire. Therefore, by their fruits you will know them." (Matthew 7:19 - 20)

If that is the case then ask yourself about the kind of fruits you are producing as a confessed Christian.

How To Live A Good Christian Life

You are not your own. Jesus has bought you with a high price. So everything you do must glorify God. It simply means, differentiates yourself from the world. Don't live like the unbelievers or people who crave worldly pleasures.

1. Your Body Is Not Yours But For God

Imagine seeing people enjoying wild parties, having sexual activities indiscriminately, and living luxurious lifestyles right in front of your eyes. The Spirit of God will surely convict you to avoid all these worldly measures.

The Bible says you must walk in the Spirit so that you can put your body into check at all times. The body is the temple of God —remember that.

"But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desires of the flesh." (Galatians 5:16)

So you must crucify your body for the sake of God. Saying "No" to pleasures of this world might feel like you are being robbed of your happiness, but that would be good for your soul. God delights in your happiness but he commands everyone to seek his kingdom and its righteousness first (Matthew 6:33).

2. Get Closer To God At All Times

Pray without ceasing(1 Thessalonians 5:17): Living a prayerless life opens up portals for the Devil to tempt and destroy your life. It is, therefore, imperative for every Christian to pray as often as he can.

Again, you must submit yourself to God by doing the things that will get you closer to Him. Some of these practices include:

• Meditation on the word of God (Joshua 1:8)

• Regular reading of the Bible

• Praying in the spirit (Ephesians 6:18)

• Doing kindness

• Obeying his word

• Quite times

• Sharing the word of God with others

Honestly, all these practices would help you grow in spirit and enjoy a great favor from God.

The Reward For Your Godly Life

God has declared that in his Holiness He cannot lie. And that is very true. We can therefore trust all his promises for those who love Him.

He has better plans for you here on earth and even in the afterlife. Just take a look at this Bible verse below. This is what the Lord says to his true Children:

"The LORD says, “Because he is devoted to me, I will deliver him; I will protect him because he is loyal to me, When he calls out to me, I will answer him. I will be with him when he is in trouble; I will rescue him and bring him honor. I will satisfy him with long life, and will let him see My salvation." (Psalms 91:14 -16)

Breakdown

1. Deliverance: God will deliver you from all your enemies just like how he delivered David from his innumerable haters. God will pull you out even from the grips of the jaws of your enemies.

2. Protection: You would enjoy 24/7 protection. His angles would guard you so that you do not stumble and fall. Every conspiracy against your success and happiness will also be fruitless. Be courageous as a true Christian soldier. Because you are in the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:13). Include affirmations such as; "no weapon formed against me shall prosper" in your daily prayers.

3. Honor: You would be honored, favored, and respected by people you don't even know. God's favor will be on you at the workplace, in your house, and wherever you go.

4. Long Life: Enjoying a long life on earth is one of the many rewards God gives to his true children. Yes! You will live long and enjoy the fruits of your hard labor.

5. Salvation: This is the most important gift every Christian must yearn for. Eternal life is free of charge for those who trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation is the most important thing you must look up to.

"For with the heart one believes and thus has righteousness and with the mouth one confesses and thus has salvation. For the scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame." (Romans 10:10 -11)

That is a trustworthy idea. It is known that the Bible has 1,000's of prophecies and out of that greater percentage has been fulfilled to the latter. Be glad if you are a child of God.

Your reward will surely be given to you. You deserve the best from God for being an obedient child. Stay faithful and be blessed!
