AWESOME GOD

Our God is an awesome God, we know that he reigns with mercy, wisdom, and love. We also know He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised because of our iniquities, he was chastised so we could have peace that passes comprehension, and by the stripes which he received we are healed! What an awesome God we serve! He remembers our labor and exalts us in due times all through this journey of love, for we are called to labor in the vineyard and bring forth fruits worthy of repentance.

(9) But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.
(10) For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love, which ye have showed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
(11) And we desire that every one of you do show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
(12) That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. Hebrews 6:9-12 KJV

Part of fulfilling our destiny and obtaining the promises is by being a servant. Minister in this passage speaks of one who attends to others. Each of us have been given grace gifts which are to be utilized for the Kingdom of God. We are told to have diligence, faith, and patience in the pursuit of inheriting the promises of God for our lives, not being slothful. What some call waiting upon God is actually procrastination, or waiting out of God’s will, putting off till tomorrow what can be done today. Let us therefore be about the Father’s business to the extent we are able being used to the degree our grace gifts have provided for us.

(6) Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
(7) Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teaches, on teaching;
(8) Or he that exhorts, on exhortation: he that gives, let him do it with simplicity; he that rules, with diligence; he that shows mercy, with cheerfulness.
(9) Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
(10) Be kindly affectionate one to another with brotherly love; in honor preferring one another;
(11) Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Romans 12:6-11 KJV

We see in this passage of scripture some grace gifts which normally are not defined as such, but each are given with a brief instruction upon their use within the context of the body of Christ and interaction with one another, but all is done for the edification or the building of the Kingdom of God. The point of the teaching is that we utilized the gifts we have while aiming for the promises of God in fulfilling our part of his will for our lives. Not slothful in business meaning not allowing ourselves to sit idle without producing fruits or progressing in the maturity of the Spirit. We are called to be constant in our diligence as inheritors of the promises of God, giving of ourselves and walking in the will of God.

(8) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
(9) Not of works, lest any man should boast.
(10) For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:8-10 KJV

We are God’s handiwork, created in and through Christ Jesus; predestined to do good works, that our lives should be wholly occupied with them. Hence ministry should be a constant reality in our lives, Jesus did just save our souls, we are saved to serve. Jesus is our paradigm, our example, our model to mimic.

“ How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. Acts 10:38 KJV

God didn’t call us to just sit around the campfire and sing choruses of Kum Ba Ya and get Holy Ghost bumps up and down our spine. He anointed us with gifts and a calling to be fruitful and multiply. To utilize those gifts where we are to the degree we can while he moves us higher and higher, from faith to faith and glory to glory.

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Hebrews 12:1 KJV

We should remember the weights of the world and sin are designed to upset and sidetrack us from running the race with hopeful endurance to obtain the goal of the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Brethren keep the Faith today by engaging the gifts you have and applying kingdom principles for your progress. There is a world that is in need of our Savior and we are often times the only bible those around us will ever read. Let them read a life of dedication in the small things, for if we are faithful in those small grace gifts, God will increase our borders. Selah!

Shalom, Agape, & Amen!
